Just out of curiosity how much does it cost to fully rebuild a VH45DE?

I know Dennis said he took the heads and crank to a machine shop his friend owns and his friend said "No way".

Then his friend doesn't know what he is doing. The VH heads aren't anymore complex then any other dual cam head. I had my valves and seats faced, new seals, baked, glass bead cleaning, reassembly and decking done for $250. Granted I used to work at the machine shop, so I didn't pay full price, but it shouldn't be that much.

Now if you have to buy all new valves, lifters, or fix warps/cracks you are in for some money.

Lemhead16..... Did you use any aftermarket internals? If so what brands and where did you get them from? Just curious for myself! :)

Nope just stock rebuild. The VH head is a work of art, unless you are planning to up the RPMs past 8K there's not much I would change. stiffer springs would help, and I've heard talk of converting to solid lifters, but I haven't seen anyone do it yet.

John Dixon is running solids. Can't remember if they are customs or SR20's.
