So I recieved my 2 rb20det engine swaps. The shipping weight for 2 complete rb20det swaps was 1652 lbs. How much does just the long block weight in at? I have a 750 lb. engine stand to put one of the long blocks on and want to make sure it can take the weight. Im pretty sure its not that heavy but the shipping weight on the reciept is confusing me.

thanks-

Did u use the oem transmission bolts to support the engine on the stand or go out and get longer ones?

I think I bought some new bolts from home depot, m10x1.5x75mm iirc.. My motorset didn't come with the trans bolts Motorstand supported it fine, but I know your concern! Be careful moving it around and you should be fine.

The longest oem bolts only come out like a 1/2" past the brackets that hold the motor up. Is that enough?

i had my rb30 block on a 750 stand. Just got some Grade 8 longer bolts from Ace to hold it to the stand. was on there for like 7 months no problem

most engine stands are designed to hold V-8..i doubt an inline 6 would much of an issue whatsoever.

I just have a Jegs no-name-brand stand, probably made in Korea somewhere by some 7 year olds.Been working great for about 4-5 months now.

I got a cheap metric engine stand bolt kit with it, put it up there with that and then noticed it was all grade 8 hardware.

I would use grade 10, I think 8 is a little weak for such a long bolt to hold that much. Im fairly sure some or all of my 4 bolts are bent slightly in the stand guides.

Home depot only had zinc coated metric bolts. Did that hold your motor fine?

go to advance auto and ask to go behind the counter. they have transmission bolts there (all black) not sure the grade but they are strong m10x1.5. I always get mine there and then use whatever washers lying around. i would not use the home depot zinc plated stuff.

We do not have an advanced Auto in Las Vegas. Is there anything similar to it?
