i'm thinking about selling my 1990 240SX hatchback. the body and interior is in great shape and i have a topspeed exhaust, alpine cd player, sony speakers in front and rear, painted center console, blue neons, shift knob, racing pedals. the car has about 196.000 miles on the car but still runs great and still beating lots of cars. i replaced the spark plugs, distributer cap, clutch master cylinder, fuel filter, and the rack and pinion. i want to sell this to try to get a newer 240. what's the most i can get out of this car??????????????

id say maybe 1500 tops with that many miles, but it all depends on who you sell it to. some punk kid who wants a "dorifto machine" will prolly pay more just because they are ignorant.

From Kelley Blue Book: Consumer Rated Condition: Fair Private Party Value $1,035

"Fair" condition is usually assumed for a car over 100,000 miles because of wear on the engine, but if you feel "Good" would be a better fit then here you are:

Consumer Rated Condition: Good Private Party Value $1,380

Consumer Rated Condition: Excellent Private Party Value $1,675

Excellent is almost never considered unless it's a new car under 20k miles or a restored classic from the 70's or earlier.

Axel makes a good point though, sombody out there would probably pay $2000 for it. I think with how well the car ages, you could get away with selling it for more. Just not THAT much more. If you decide to sell it for more than the Blue Book value then be prepared for a long sale process. You'll have lots of tire kickers trying to low ball you or at least try to get you to sell for $200 under value.
