Thinking of selling my KA-T built motor - about 10,000 miles after rebuilt. 8000 miles under boost.

The setup is in my signature:- Short block hot-tanked- CP pistons 9:1 cp- Eagle rods- COmetic headgasket- ARP studs- Clevite bearings- Refreshed head- Balanced rotating assembly- Professionally built by a shop.

What would you pay for something like this?

You should list details on the shop + machine work. Otherwise it's simply a sum of the parts IMHO. The work that went into the block could be worth $500, $1000, or squat.

10k is pretty far from new and what does refreshed head exactly mean. New valve seals, angle job on the valves and head, new valves/springs...lots of different things could be done here. Need a more exact list.

I'd say $700-$900 depending.

on the head, it's rebuilt with new valve seals, lapped valve seats (no angle job), but used the old valves/springs

I would also ask for compression test results as it was running under boost. How many lbs of boost? was it raced? was it broken in properly?

I'm interested in it. What are the compression and leak down results? How did you break it in after it was installed and for how long?

thx for all the replies. leak down test is good, normal readings (i forgot the percentage). compression test is also normal readings (a little lower due to lower cr, but consistent)

i'm meeting the insurance adjuster tomorrow. we'll see if it's totalled and if i can keep the car.
