been searching, cannot locate a "chart yr over yr change" in the model....are there substantive changes?

is there any noticeable difference in chassis flex, ride quality between hard top & t-top?

thanks for any & all input, reasons for asking

under consideration:
1 owner 94, tt with 77,000km 2 seater, auto trans (service records with broker), asking jpy6.9 million (click on any pic for enlargement)

or
1990 tt, t-bar roof manual trans, 2+2 seating & 51,000km, asking same price ( but market here is in the toilet so likely lots of flex in the pricing

....(have no experience with this edition, ....but am definitely taken by looks & quality of fit/finish
& nissan drivetrain)

First, Welcome to NICO!

There are some differences between the 90 and 94, mostly electrical and HICAS (variable steering for the rear). The 94 had better connectors for the fuel injection, CAS.

From the standpoint of condition, the 94 wins. I guess it depends on if you want an auto vs 5 spd, 2+2 T-Top vs Coupe (slicktop). Slicktops are very desirable in the US because they are more rigid than a T-Top. But, I love my T-Tops very much on a nice day and wouldn't trade it for a slicktop.

From a price point, are you really saying 6.9M yen? It's been several years since I was in Japan and I know it is extremely expensive to live. But, $90k USD?

As far as fun, they are an absolute blast. It's not as reliable as a Toyota Supra or a Honda, but it's definitely a very nice car. I have had mine for 8 yrs and probably won't ever sell it.

thanks, for welcome & good info....
re price sorry decimal wrong place......(.69 million) & prices have come down here a lot since we left in 2009 (not just cars, but housing food eveything).
sick economic situation of past yrs, compounded by the distress of 3/11 tsunamis & nuke plant meltdown, & now japan main island getting smacked by its 2nd typhoon in 3 wks (flooding & landslide damage substantial, plus 80,000 people evacuated from nagoya area) expected to hit kanto region late evening.
cheers

Sorry to hear, Japan has had more than it's share of misery lately. Hopefully, nothing will be too bad for once. Take care, let us know if you pick up one of those.

If it were me I'd go for the latter Z.. IMHO. 5-speed, lower mileage, looks very well taken care of.. and T-Tops FTW! :chuckle:
