Whether it was self-install, or shop installed, how much did you pay for your sr swap? Include EVERYTHING, any mishaps or forgotten parts.

Just trying to get a estimated price besides the usual base prices quoted.

hum....that is a tough one...estimated around $5500 with shop installed. Only regret part I wish I could of gotten was SAFC2, Koyo radiator, and nismo motor mounts.

Forgot to add, I wish I could of did it myself :(

You can also add on to that $1400 for 5Zigen FN01RC rims and 300ZX brakes but did that at a later date.

Total (including replacing some stuff) self installed.....did my own wiring...about $3200-3400. Maybe a lil less. A front clip doesn't provide EVERYTHING you need. Things come up. You'll need to replace things such as upgraded clutch...fuel pump... all the tune up components and fluids. And most importantly: gaskets.

10k. chassis, install, all the bolt ons, top quality names, greddy gauges, tires, catch can, lots of extras. should be good to around 220whp on stock boost.

I wish I had done the mounts when I had the swap done. Looking back on it, I think that mounts should be considered a necessity if you want to do it right.

All things considered, I think I spent about $8000 for the clip, parts, engine rebuild and labor on the installation.

Damn...if I had the space and tool to do the swap, I would attempt it. I know I would learn an assload of stuff.

4k, rebuilt bottom up, koyo with nismo mounts, apexi intake, greddy hotpipe, and sard r2d2. all work and install done by me minus the physical install of the motor/transmission into the car, that was with 3 other friends. awesome learning experience just like quicksilvia and j-spec mentioned.

Mine's going to be around 7K for S14 motorset + S15 turbo. Custom downpipe, testpipe, cat-back, intake, fmic, walbro, battery relocation, exedy stage ii clutch and install (includes belts, fluids, etc.) Oh, the shop doing my swap is using urethane mounts because they say it's cheaper and it's as stiff as the nismo ones.
