So guys as more and more people are starting to restore/mod these cars are prices for top replacements getting cheaper? How much did you guys recently pay to have your tops replaced. Its past time for ours to be replaced so Im looking for ball park figures. This way I know when the person is trying to rip me off or not.

Just got my new top the other day. I went to some local upholstery places in town and got quotes for just under $500 for the labor. Top was around $450 so total would be around $950, but I'm cheap and gonna try it myself first. Topsonline was great by the way (where I ordered my top from). $450 included the cables and tinted rear window BTW.

i paid like close to 3 hundred for the top and about 150 to get it installed. so total was less that $500. but i only ordered the top not the window part. that is still in good shape so i didn't need it. the guy that installed it worked out of his garage and thats all he did was install tops for convertibles. I've had it for over 2 years and no problems yet

I bought my top for $650 which included pads, headliner, canvas top, and tinted rear window. Got it installed at an upholstery shop for $350. So $1000 total. Don't go cheap. It's your freakin' roof!

I would love to get a quote like that. Here in vegas we are looking at around 1500 total so far. Not bad but man a 1000 would be cheap for me right now.

sounds like calling insurance in on this might not be a bad idea... 500 deductible, and if its gonna be 1000 to replace, obviously worth it...

Well, the parts you can buy online for the same price I paid, it's just the installation price that you need to work on. I'd keep calling around local shops. Don't order your top thru the shops, do that yourself. Just use the shop for installation.
