Wow, not many convertible purchases or just no posters? I'm looking to get one soon and hoping to get info on people's current deals. Any info or experience would be appreciated. Thanks.

I just bought my regular (non-sport) model.

Nav.,Premium,19" wheels

Paid $500 over invoice.

Had to pay an additional $975 to have it shipped two states because I wanted a particular color combo.

Bought the after market paint and leather sealant - $600 (was quoted $900 initially.)

Bought full extended warranty (100,00 miles) paid whatever going rate is.

Marin. Salesman was "AJ". Nice guy. On a scale of 1 to 10, his "annoying car salesman" rating was about a 2.

These guys are more about quantity over markup. They sell enough cars that they can sell near invoice. Likely, they get enough kickback from Infiniti to cover.

They push REALLY hard on the referrals. That's cool.

If you end up going there, Let me know. Maybe I can convince them to cut me a deal on a spoiler

Tell 'em Peter T sent yo.

Thanks Peter, If I can't get similar pricing down in the southbay - I'll definitely look into Marin and drop your name.

Dealers are definitely discounting now. In July, my local dealer wanted $5K OVER sticker. In November they had 20 sitting on the lot even with the $599 lease special. I got $2K off but more importantly got $4K MORE for my trade-in than they had offered last summer.

Finished the paperwork last night and they're delivering mine today. Got an excellent deal because I bought two cars - a sedan and a convertible (as well as the knowledge from several forums, much research, and experience of buying many of cars in the past)

MSRP- $49,815 (Premium, Nav)Invoice $45,772

Sales Price: $46,000

Also got an unbelievable deal on the lease rate (Money Factor) too. Ended up with a monthly including tax of $674 for a 36 month lease at 12,000 miles per year, no money down except for first month's payment and license fees.

jlekach, was yours a new 2009? that seems like a smokin hot deal. i'm in so cal and they quoted same price, except with $3500 down on a 10k/month lease for 36 months.

(and add in taxes)

trying to figure out my angle here.

Guys, you're paying too much!

We have numerous Nissan/Infiniti employees that can get VPP numbers to our members.

Let me know if you're interested...I just did it with my new 09 sedan and paid $34k with NAV/Sport/Premium + splashguards/trunk mat/trunk net.

I'm very very interested. I'm actually in negotiation right now for a car, but they are making us use some third party company to handle sales tax, and were trying to charge us too much. Please get back to me as soon as you can.

Here's some info on the VPP plan.

I'll get with my Nissan employee about getting VPP numbers.

Please e-mail me if you're interested as I'm not sure how many VPP #'s he's allowed. (got your e-mail Robby).

Thanks for the reply. Also if you know of a dealer that is good to work with thats somewhat close to KC, let me know. The car we are looking at now is a Blk/Blk Convert NON-Sport with premium/nav/ill. kick/spoiler. I don't know how much connection you have. Thats just what we are looking for. Thanks, Robby

Sweet hook-up Joe!

I could have used a little help about 6 months ago - I got my G in early July when they just came out. I did very well in my negotiations but I recall stories of stealers, uh - I mean dealers charging $10k over MSRP. CAN YOU IMAGINE!!

Thanks for making NICO a great community!

Ok I got a Athens Blue sport, nav, premium, and kick plates for 44,500! VPP price. Or maybe it was 44K even not sure exactly but know it was 44 something. Great deal! I really have to search hard to find a leftover 09' Athens blue and glad I did! However, because I was upside down $9,000 on my truck my payment was still in the 800's as expected. Did a 39 month lease with the first payment included in my down payment.

Thought about waiting for a 10' model, but kind not pass up that price. Salesman was really nice and he is driving my car down to me tomorrow and we are going to a switch a roo.

this is what i was quoted a couple weeks back for a vert, midnight garnet, with premium, wood trim, wheat int., 19" tire pkg, rear wind deflector, splash guards:

MSRP= $49,905

invoice= 45,812

my price with VPP A code= 42,850

lease deal: $460/mth for 39 mths and 10K miles/yr.

$0 down, and $1,400 up front for fees and first mth payment + $4,400 refundable MSDs for total upfront of $5,800.

Money Factor= .00175

residual= 61%

gross/net residual= $30,442

now Nissan called me the other day and said if i hadn't finished the deal, they would offer another $1,000 off. that would drop the monthly payment to $440.

any thoughts on this deal?

I'm trying to understand this extra $1000 off business myself. I have a vpp discount code and Nissan called me this week asking if I'd used it yet - I'd swear she was offering me an extra $1000 off above the VPP A discount. I went to the dealer today and asked about this and they had no knowledge of this extra $1000. The deal with VPP A is quite good but if there is an extra $1000 around I'd love to take advantage of it.

i see you have a convertible...how do you like it? are you looking to add to your garage by buying a sedan with that VPP claim? just curious, cause i recently bought the sedan and now want to get a convertible too, and people tell me i'm crazy...yeah! crazy about Infiniti cars!

My wife's X3 is coming off lease and we are looking at either an EX35 or a M35X - I think I would prefer a 2010 g37x but it is her call although I will be negotiating whatever the decision is.

I like the vert very much - lots of fun to drive although it stays inside if there is any chance of snow as it has summer tires on. The back seat is useful only for short trips. I looked seriously at the bmw 335 and audi a5 verts - both outstanding vehicles but more expensive than the infiniti. Infiniti wins on price, looks, and acceleration - bmw and audi have more practical back seats and trunks and handle very well.

The backseat is bigger on the G37 compared to the 335 or A5...but I don't like the EX. In fact, the EX35 trunk is smaller than the G37 sedan!!!!! Now the FX is bigger...I actually considered the FX, but since I already have an SUV, I decided to get a sedan.

The sedan backseat may be bigger but on the vert the g37 is 27.1" rear leg room vs 31.9" on the BMW and 34.1" head room vs 36.7" for the BMW. BMW also has a nice trunk pass through.

I was surprised at how close the g37 sedan trunk was to the M35x - 13.5 vs 14.9 cubic feet - not much at all. M35x back seat is very comfortable and the whole car feel roomy - I wish it had the new nav system from the 2010 g37. The EX35 is very nice from the front seats - 18 cubic feet in the trunk with the seats up vs 24 or so in our X3 - EX35 is tight in the back seat but tolerable when we would need it. Love the around-view monitor. FX35 isn't as good a deal - $5k more or so configured the way we want. My wife was in a bad mood when she drove the G37x (getting ready for a lengthy out of town trip) and she didn't like it - thought it felt harsh compared to her BMW. I didn't think so but know better than to argue.

By the way - unbelievable discounts using VPP on the M35x now - nearly $13k off list.
