My car has well over 200,000 miles and I am thinking of doing a motor swap and suspension mods. What would be the best bang for suspension mods? KYB AGX shocks with Eibach pro kit? Is the sportline any good? Or would the JIC 999.99 dollars suspension from Enjukeracing be better? It's a few hundreds differences. With the JIC would I just take out the hole suspension strut, strut tower and spring out and just slip the other one in? No need to take anything off the stock one? I'm just a little confuse so anyone that could help that would be cool.

So far ive only spent about $150 on mods. I will probably spend close to $2k idealy on suspension. Dont worry so much about springs and struts. Get the AGX and one of the popular springs and you will be fine. If you want to get coil overs thats a whole different ballfield. Get some sways, a strut bar, and bushings. And DON'T FORGET BRAKES! You said you have 200k miles on your car... the brakes are crying to be upgraded.

i got a package deal for most the stuff i have. it was about $1300 for AGX struts, whiteline springs, whiteline front and rear sway bars, and a bunch of bushings. tires & wheels is another $1100 w/ a decent deal on the wheels. i installed all my susoension myself so i didnt have to pay for that but dont forget to add in the cost of getting tires mounted and balanced along with an alignment.

Since I went with some used coils...I have a set of Tanabe SDP springs *BRAND NEW* sitting in my room. I can sell them to ya if your interested (before I make a thread).

Anywho...when your installing coilovers, you take out the existing shocks/springs and just bolt-on the new coilovers. Of course some muscle work is needed to get some of those bolts off. Suspension mods add up and I've just started ($650 spent) from the list of all these parts that I want and NEED. You will find out that once you lower your car......your going to have to upgrade other pieces on your car.

BTW....I'm going to spend $1500+ once everything is done.

The brakes on the car feels really good. So let's assume it got replaced. Now I see people replacing the tie rods. I saw PDM-Racing offering them. Is it necessary to replace these? Are whiteline suspension any good?

almost all my suspension stuff is from whiteline and they make quality products. if your car has 200k miles your TC rod bushings are most likley shot which causes instability and looseness in steering. you can either replace the bushings with after market ones like whiteline supplies or you can buy a whole new rod that doesnt use a bushing which will stiffen up the steering and provide better steering response. its a worthy upgrade for the money. unfortunatley, unless you have access to a hydrolic press the bushings will be very difficult to do yourself.

PDM-Racing sells all kinds of stuff man!! They have all the front and rear lower and upper control arms with bushing and tierods with bushing in them. Well you see I don't know if my car actually have over 200k miles. The reason for this is that the odometer says 112,000 miles but on Carfax.com I've over a car report and it shows back in 2000 the car had an emission test with 176,000 registered and then in 2002 it was shown with 105,000 miles so I am confuse. The car drives solid and really nice. It feels just as solid as my old 95 Nissan 240sx that I crashed last year. Any opinion on this is great.

For Sale and Group Buy sections on forums (besides just this one) can also lead you to some good deals (i.e. Zilvia.net).

i would say the best thing you can do suspension wise is tires, then sway bar, then dampers/springs. a good tire will make or break a suspension setup.

currently, the only suspension mods i've done are nismo TC bushings and AGX's all the way around. the bushings cost me around 60 bucks from Nissan, and the AGX's I got for less then 100 for the fronts and less than 80 for the rears from Advance Auto Parts. I have a friend who works there, so I got his employee discount.
