Hey wassup guys, i currently have a 1996 prelude vtec but i was thinking of trading it in for the latest gen. of the 240's (97+)... I found a red 97 in wisconsin with 63,000 miles for 6grand flat but i was told that to be suspcisious because the price is oddly low.... Tell me if you think it's worth it, and what i should check up on to see if the car's Ok... I'm planning on swapping the sr20det asap so engine longevity isn't that large of an issue..thanks again guys-James

Yes 6k does mean there is most likely something wrong with it, or they are just desperate. Either way who cares...you'e getting another engine asap...so all you need is the body and chassis..GO FOR IT.

My 97' 240SX SE was aquired for 3200USD + 300USD in repairs with 21k miles. I found it at an auction with minor flood damage to it and a dented passenger fender(dented not smashed). No one wanted to bid on it but me. All the rest of the biders wanted were those american muscle cars. They were a bunch of late aged men so they didn't even look attentive when the 240 came out to showcase. 3200 was opening bid, and I won.

Car fax doesn't justify damages that were not claimed through insurance or police reports.
