I'm changing my AC compressor myslef during my overhaul and wanted to know how much compressor oil I should add? Usually when swapping out compressors from other makes I use about 8oz, but what about my 92 Q45? It's a brand new R12 compressor from Calsonic. What would happen if I added the newer freon instead of R12. I know it expands differently, but I'm curious. What's the best way to do this with an R12 compressor???

The entire AC system should have 8 US fluid ounces [of the freon specific oil].

Compressor 3.2Dryer 0.2Evap 2.9Condenser 1.5Both flex hoses 0.23

The compressor might survive R134a [some amount of time] IF you use the corrrect oil the entire AC will need to be disassembled, flushed and the flexhoses replaced for R134a.................+ new test/fill port adapters.
