Search. I think it's been discussed somewhere around here, and you can't do it. You can get a ca to 2 liters, but you've gotta have new rods and pistons custom-made. I could be wrong though

My Toda pistons are 84mm. You don't want CA20 pistons, they are high compression NA pistons for a SOHC engine things will umm, Touch. Yeah that's right. Tomei sells a CA20 kit that uses a CA20 crank, CA18 rods and custom pistons. You can do the same thing just get a CA20 crankuse your rodsHave custom pistons with a lower pin height made.

Why cant you get CA pistons? I know of at least two companies (JE and CP pistons) that have all the information and can make them for you if you just call them up.

hrmmmm, well I would go forged, but I am trying to keep this as low budget as possible and at $105 a hole it gets kind of spendy. I can get CA20E pistons for $30 a peice w/rings. then I am going to have the tops ceramic and the skirts moly coated. here is a pic , pics of the pistons tops are towards the bottom of the page. note that the CA20E have the same pin height and they are DISHED and the have 4 valve releifs!!! also, stock compression on the CA20E was a paultry 8.5 to 1.

MAD you have 84mm pistons? so another .5mm should be no problem, right?? I'll have a website up very soon probably by the end of the day showing all of what I have found.

This swap isnt that difficult IFFFFFF you have 2 complete engines side by side to pull parts and swap and compare, which, thankfully I do!

cheers,McAdam

P.S. I dont WANT a 2.0 CA, I just cant get pistons for the CA18, but I can get them for a CA20. Added displacement is just a bonus. I am just trying to get it together. and I want to use the DE rods which are full floating, but the ET rods aren't they are regular press in. machinist says you cant remove teh pin without destroying the piston.
