How much better is the vlsd than the lsd? i know the vsld is better than lsd but its hard to find a vsld from junkyard. so i was thinking if there is not that much different i would probably get the regular lsd since they are easier to find.

VLSD's (viscous limited slip differentials) are the worst performing of all LSD's. Unless you are mistaking the term LSD (limited slip differential) with open differential.

LSD types:ClutchViscousHelical cut gearWelded

Clutch and Helical are the 2 best performance options. Choose depending on what type of racing your into, and how much your willing to put up with it in daily driving.

vlsd owns though, as opposed to open... (1st time at the auto-x this year, HUGE diff from last year's 1 wheel launches and could not keep the rear end in place when it was a bit wet out)there is a reason clutch and helical diffs cost up to and maybe even over a grand and used vlsd's are around 200-300 (anything over 300 for a VLSD is a joke).

So your saying a welded open diff would perform better than a VLSD? Maby in straight line acceleration but thats about it. In fact welded can't even be considered a LSD because it doesn't slip right?

Any R200 pumpkin (J30, S13, S14, NAZ32) will bolt right up as long as you have a 2-bolt diff cover. However, S14's have 6-bolt axle shafts, so you'll need to mix and match axles and/or output shafts. Search and you'll find what the different combos are.
