I also use 93 octan and have gotten almost 400 out of my tank before my light came on, but thats 100% highway miles without stopping. Our tank size is 15 1/2 gal. so thats about 27 miles to the gallon which is about right if you're cars in good shape and tuned correctly

i get in the 300s and fill up, the light never comes on, but it gets down there, it usually gets just before the empty line and i fill it, and it only fills 11gallons, so its either messed up, or theres alot more gas in the tank when its at the bottom....

yea my needle will sit at the bottom for a really long time before the light comes on and when it does, I usually fill up 13 gallons, so theres like a 2 gallon reserve when your light comes on

according to my FSM I have a 17.2 gallon tank. I run 89 octane in my 1996 240sx and usually fill up 12-13 gallons every 350 miles. My gas light has never come on. I'm actually at 1/4 tank right now with 320 miles, its nuts.

I put $10 of gas in at a time. which used to get me 7.5 gallons. I'd get around 110 miles off that, 120 if I was lucky.

I usually get 400+ out of every tank w/ about 70% highway miles. My mileage goes between 28-32 mpg depending on how heavy my foot is. Mileage sucked back in the winter because I'd let it idle for 15 minutes every morning; still better than getting in the car when it's 15 degrees in there.

My mileage is sucking hardcore, because my car is running uber rich. I fill up with 1/4 left in the tank, and I only got 170 miles on the last tank.

170 miles?! How long has it been since your car had a tune up?

I'm guessing awile. I bought it about a year ago, and the guy said it'd had routine maintenance done, but I'm not so sure. I'm hoping fixing the timing chain will help.

I get around 320-350 out of 12.5 gallons. I let it get right on the E usually. So if its a 17 gallon tank i have over 4 gallons left when it says empty? Thats weird, I never knew it was supposed to hold 17 gallons. Maybe mine is mis calibrated or something because the gauge drops way faster after the half way mark.

I don't know about the timing chain helping your mileage. I've improved my mileage by 8-10 mpg by putting on new wires, O2 sensor, plugs, and filters. I'm gonna do the dist. cap and rotor soon. I'll probably get a little more mileage if I ever find a replacement transmission (damn countershaft bearings!). Even if the guy said the routine maintenance has been done, replace that stuff anyway. Think about it like this: I spent less than $100, plus my own time, and I'm getting 130-160 extra miles per tank. With 93 octane between $1.85 and $1.89 here this weekend I'm saving over $20 per thousand miles. The parts have paid for themselves in less than 5K miles.
