got a 95 j30 OBD1, pulled 32 and 34 from ecu. i want to try out the KS bypass trick for a tank or two. ran out to radioshack and got a 1M ohm 1/2 watt resistor. according to the pic in the j30 FSM, its the back connector, which on my car has 3 wires. white, black, white. the connector in front of it only has 2 wires. i know that a knock sensor only has 2 contacts on the actual sensor. so does the knock sensor "sub-harness connector" have 2 or 3 wires??

or where precisely is the connector located?? is it the one connector thats at the far back, dead center of the engine, "hiding" behind the bars that go across the back of the engine? or is it one of the two connections that are mounted right above the back right fuel injector??

I just solved this about an hour ago. thnx for the heads up. used a 1M ohm resistor in the socket and now the 32, and 34 error codes turned into 55. not sure how the 32 was fixed by this, but im not complaining.

about the relocation of the knock sensor, anyoen know the absolute cheapest place to buy the sub harness wire at and how much it would be?? i really dont think paying like $30+ for the sub harness cable is right, even though i can get a knock sensor off ebay for like $20.

yea, im as lazy as lazy gets, its taken me about 2 months to break down and pull the codes from my ecu... lol i went and hit up some site and got the cable for about twice the price i just got the knock sensor for.... LMAO. that just sounds so wrong.

is it "safe" for me to run the car with the knock sensor bypassed until the replacements come in?? probably about a month max, driving about 20-30 miles every weekday.
