How Many VQ40 Timing Chain Guide Issues

I ran a quick search, but didn't see any VQ40 timing chain issues. I have 73,000 miles on my 06 Frontier w/4.0L and have developed the whine associated with the worn timing chain guides. I had the dealer order the parts yesterday to have mine replaced.

How many other VQ40s have had the same issue? And at what mileage? What year is your Xterra, Frontier, or Pathfinder?

Well I drop it off at the dealer Saturday morning for them to start on it 1st thing Monday. And I thought a chain was supposed to outlast a belt? Guess not!

Looks like I'm the only 4.0L timing chain issue on here. Got my truck back Tuesday, $1810 lighter. I went ahead and had the water pump, plugs, idler pulley, and belt/s changed while they were there. I also had the original oil leak fixed, including rear timing chain plate seal, valve cover (cracked), and valve cover gaskets. Turned out to be leaking from behind the timing chain back plate.

If your warranty is about up, have the timing chain tensioner checked.
