I don't have more than 20 albums right now on MP3, but when I was living with a couple of buddies we had 250 gigs on a shared server. If you loaded them all as one playlist on winamp it was a years worth of constant music.

22,366 MP3s totaling 113.07 GBs.

All high quality VBR (192-320kbps), some are upconverted from worse sources, some are made from lossless FLAC files.

Wait, that's all in one torrent? It's not broken down by season? And aren't they on season 15 now? My tv show collection is limited to mostly comedies (include some classic sitcoms) and all of top gear.

So currently I have 2136 songs @ 12.36GB which equates to 6.6 Days of music. I've been watching The Pacific mini series so I was like hmmm what did they listen to back then and downloaded like 20 songs from the 40's. To be honest the stuff's not that bad, was never into swing music or big band but stuff like Ella Fitzgerald, The Andrews Sisters, Irving Berlin, and Etta James is actually kinda catchy.

Nope, just one big torrent. :bigthumb:
They could be on season 15 right now, but if the season isn't done, I won't be downloading it. I wait till the season is finished so I can get all the episodes together.

That kinda bites that you can't use any of it until all 14 seasons are complete. How has your ISP not throttled your connection yet? And how do you locate a torrent for all of that in one file? And I believe you are correct that season 15 is not complete yet.

Back on topic, I checked this weekend. I have about 11k songs at only about 60 gigs. A lot of the random crap I have (like the Billboard Top 100s) are encoded at a lower bit rate. Since I listen to those as more of a joke, it's not a big deal.

Well if you want, you could select only the seasons that you want to download, or even the individual files you want to download. I did that with a 101GB torrent of 1080p movies. Some I already had, so I just selected the ones (about 75GB worth) I wanted to D/L and they're ready to watch once each file is at 100%.

When downloading TV show seasons, I'll set the first episode (i.e.S01 E01) to high priority and once it's done, I can watch it, then make the 2nd episode high priority. Otherwise I'd have to wait till the whole torrent is done before watching any of it. Same can be done with music torrents. Just unselect the songs (files) that you do not want and it'll skip 'em.
AppleBonker wrote:How has your ISP not throttled your connection yet?
??? I'll have to take a screenshot of uTorrent. I've only shut my computer down a couple times in the last few months due to software update restarts and potential lightning. I would guess I have about a 98-99% uptime of continuous downloading/uploading for the last 3 months.

AppleBonker wrote:And how do you locate a torrent for all of that in one file?
Search for what you're looking for and then sort by largest size first.

Now you guys are making me want to expand my music since my collection has been neglected for a while.

Who is your ISP? Comcast would hang me out to dry. I think the cap is something like 200-250 gigs/month. Leaving stuff open 24/7 for a month would destroy that cap for me.

Well, thanks to this thread, I am now downloading all of Modern Marvels and Top Gear. This is going to take forever. ;_;

I love me some modern marvels. I miss it because I don't have cable anymore.

Chumbawamba is an amazing band. They started out as a crusty anarcho band and somehow survived as a band through the very drastic change from undergound punk -> mainstream pop. That alone gets a lot of praise from me.

There's just under 13k songs in my list. I get music for my friends (so they can listen to their stuff in my car), funny music (just to blast and embarrass the h3ll out of whoever is along with me, discographies, and top 100's of many different subjects (love songs, 80's, 60's, dance etc)

My favorite would have to be sub genres of the punk scene from beginning to now, or almost anything from the 60's

I do. I spent a couple weekends (not full time) organizing everything. It was a huge pain, but I'm much happier now.

9116 items; 30 days + 15hr, 13min, 40sec; 55.53gb.

I'm lucky enough to have friends and family with billions of CDs for me to rip; and not having to worry about pissing anyone off on teh interwebz is a huge plus.

Edit: oh, and all mine have proper ID3 tags and album art. It takes forever, but just keep up with it and it makes your life so much better. It can be hard finding album art for some of the crazy crap I have.

:)WERD

Yeah I have some stuff that I just can't get album art for. I spent a couple of weeks straight getting all my meta-data and album art right. iTunes has a tendency to put some completely wrong album art with certain songs.
