Chris - Infiniti of Scottsdale did mine (under warranty) for $14.50 per valve cover gasket and $603 labor. Not sure how many hours that is but I'm guessing it's about 6.

I did mine for ~$11 per side. I did have a problem with one of the cam doughnut things and had to re-do the passenger side and it took less than an hour.

That's pretty quick! I can't change 4 plugs in less than 2-3 hours, though the plugs would be a bit more work if you're comparing them to solid gaskets. RTV gaskets...forget it!

We charge 6.5 hours for a standard 90-93 car and add 1 hour for TCS and another hour if Active. The 94-96 are 1 hour faster but you get to buy the gasket vs rtv.

Hours and hours are spent clean the inside of the old valve covers and getting the oil out of the spark plug wells and checking plugs.........which we offer to replace for parts cost.

Q45tech, how necessary is this to do?? Mine are just a little leaky, and smell just after you shut it off, and thats it. Is it easier to do when they are not bad?? Is there anything i can do (without replacing them) to stop it from getting worse?

1994 uses a gasket, less an art than RTV on earlier VH45DEs. No advantage in waiting.

Since the oil falls on the exhaust manifold and might catch on fire or at least plug the vent holes on the O2 sensor.

Just a normal thing on V8 engines after 7-8-9 years they all leak even Rolls Royce.

Either sell it of fix as who likes a smelly car.

I should state that the less than an hour was for the "re-do" it did take a while the first time to perform all of the cleaning required.

Can anybody give me the Part Number for the Valve Cover Gaskets on the 94 Q?

Nissan Australia is trying to tell me there is no such thing. Mine has 2, I've SEEN them!

Thanks in advance. :D
