How many quarts of oil does an SR20 hold?

Helpin my friend do an oil change, and im not familiar with the SR20.

we picked up 6, i guess ill just throw in 4, see where its at, then add as necessary

3 and half qts exactly. but if the swap is fresh, you'll find it consume more than 3 and half.

4 shows right at the full line on a redtop, i just did one at work today i started at 3.5 and worked my way till it was perfect.

According to Project Silvia in sport compact car magazine, and SR20DET holds about 3.5 quarts of oil. If you want to be sure check the oil capacity and filter size for a Nissan 200SX SER with the SR20DE available in America. A higher capacity oil pan upgrade is recommended for that engine.

I remeber draining and filling a SR20DET 240 and getting not quite 3 quarts from a drain/fill

a larger capacity oil pan would really help the SE20DET motor

I had the Greddy Oil Pan on my S13 w/SR, increased capaciy from 3.6 to 5.0 qurts.

That is not stock of course.
