I was just curious how many people were using school money (scholarship, grant, loan) on their car. Whether it be on parts, or a new car. I'm asking because that is how I plan to purchase my new project, after school expenses are taken care of, of course.

Well, I had a car, then sold it when so I could pay for my wedding. Now, things have settled a bit it's time for a new one! But, that will wait until spring.

i think an easier number to count would be "who isn't using school money on their car?"

maybe i should enroll in school for the perks of grants and such. i actually know a few people that use the "left over" money to mod their cars. this actually does give me a good idea, i should extort the local drug dealers for mod money, i wont call the cops on them if they pay me off...lmao

im not too sure about using full school money on parts, thats a no.
but for me i was granted enough by financial aid to pay off my state school for the year and i still do have a bit of cash that the state has for me, either way i will be paying it back to the state. But for now it is available, and "mine".

i agree with duffman. get a job and save money use the extra money for next years school or what have you. If you cant get a job then beat feet. apparently you have a job because you own a vehicle and, you must drive it since you want to "mod" your car. its low in my opinion.

WHOA? :wtf2: Learn to read the post. I said "after school expenses are taken care of." The way loans and grants come in HERE is split into two parts, I get 13k per year from grants and loans, and such. My school costs a whopping $1100 in tuition and about $200-$400 in books. You do the math. Before you start ripping and going on some sob story, learn this one.

I'm sorry you don't get aid, but I am married, which makes me independent for one, have a baby, and have a job working with a fantastic photographer. I have a house, a car, and plenty of bills to pay for, but between my wife and I, we pay them. So don't start with the "Tax money" story, either. I work, I pay them as well. I also pay my debs. I also make straight A's so... it's not like I'm there mooching money, ya dig?

You also can't hold the fact that I got aid and you didn't against me. I use mine for school first, then necessity next, then car. Which hasn't happened yet, so this very topic some people are blowing out of proportion, and veering way off of is still hypothetical.

Sure we can its the internet. If i did get free money that didnt go to school it went to paying off school loans not cars. I know people that do this and im hoping that some agency comes out the wood work and audits their asses. Sorry man, but from people like me who got effed cause my parent made too much kinda pisses me off that i have 40k is school loans and other are using "free" money to modify their cars. Sure its your money but i dont have to be happy about it.

Well like I said, I am independent. I don't live with my parents, and meet the qualifications to be considered "independent." You too would get aid if you were. You say "free money" loans aren't free money. It is a loan. You pay it back with interest. So please tell me, where is the free in that?

No not even close. I looked into this and i had to be on my own for a year and make less than 10k. Grants are free, so theres the free.

Yeah, I was talking about loans, my grant (singular) goes to paying for my schools expenses. Puts a hole in your logic again fella. The loans go for when business is slow with photography first. No need to douche-up a perfectly lighthearted topic.

Well Mods you can take this topic down. Apparently people are incapable of taking the topic at face value, and replying as such.

Ok wow someone got butt hurt real quick. Your first post says "I was just curious how many people were using school money (scholarship, grant, loan) on their car. " No hole in my logic you do what you want.

Ha not butt hurt, as you say, just find it childish that people can't have a discussion without someone flaming away. If you disagree that is fine, but no need for saying stuff like "My tax dollars..." "For us people who didn't get it..." is unnecessary, especially when you are reading too far into it.

I understand you Urcaptn. People tried to feed me s*** when I said I bought coilovers with a grant I was given AFTER I payed for tuition OUT OF POCKET. People Hate, and some times they hate the wrong people. They hate the people that benefit from a system that they think is corrupt but was actually developed to help individuals. That's probably why I Hate Nico Club so much. It's full of wonderful autotech, but I absolutely can't stand the political views of others.
