If you leave it stock it was a blast, I had zero issues with the motor the whole year it ran. Oil changes 2 times, and changed the plugs once. She was my daily driver, and I gave her a pounding.

Heres the brutal truth:The people who have problems with a stock swap are either incapable of mechanical things or do know how to do wiring properly and try to 'save' money by skrimping on important details.A properly done swap will run reliably with no issues...we swapped a buddies car over 2 years ago and dropped a 20 with minor boltons to it; he then drove it for over 50k mi with zero issues with reliabilty.

you also need to remember your in a forum for when things go wrong. people dont make threads and say "its running great, just telling everyone"

i had a rb in my car for over 3 years and it was very good to me.

also +1 to what carl said. half assed swaps have lots of problems.

I will have to go with the love-hate relationship with my RB. I hate it when things aren't running, but when I have it together it is very reliable, fun to drive, and gets good mileage. I think I was up around 25 mpg last summer if I stayed out of boost.
