Can't tell you if I don't know what you're talking about. What is "loud value train noise" and what exactly does it sound like?

I've not noticed any odd sounds apart from with the passenger seat causing a minor rattle in the wrong position lol Other that that everything sounds nice, quiet and the engine sounds as i'd (the average driver) expect. No knocking, clicking or clunking. I got used to listening for sounds with my previous car lol :)

How many miles are on your Versa?

We have a '98 Plymouth Voyager (that has a Mitsubishi V6 motor) and it was ticking on colder days. We had to have two brake lines replaced (they popped, then no brakes!), and while it was in we had them replace the way overdue timing belt replacement service. Should have been changed at 75K, and we went to 96K before the service. Hasn't really ticked like that since (only a slight and almost inaudible tick on the coldest days, probably from waiting too long to change the timing belt).

If your valve train is ticking you may have an issue with the timing chain being stretched, or rocker arms that need adjusting. OR... your engine oil might be really low. Hope you get it sorted out.

Almost forgot to add this... no valve train noise. Shouldn't have any either at @13,650 miles!

MY 2008 Versa sl has had the ticking noise since 15000 and I'm now at 100000 mile and it is a non issue it is normal for this engine to have that noise so long as it goes way after 15 min after a cold start.

I have it. I live in Maine, so it is COLD outside, but I notice it whenever the temps drop below 50

Mine does this on cold start up and has been making cold engine valve train noise since almost new. Now has 52,000 miles. This is my first and only Nissan so I just figured it was typical Nissan engine noise. Hard to hear it over the numerous rattles inside the car so all is good.
