Hi guys, I've been reading thisboard for a very long time even before it went to the new format and when it just started. I see posts with bunch of stupid questions that has no meaning and mot of just talk **** and don't know crap about cars and pretend you are experts which is pretty sad. Trust me if you can install fog lights or stereos you don't know everything about cars. I too own a 240 sx and I like my car a lot. I'm a dealer mechanic and it's really sad when I see people say stuff that has nothing to do with the problem that is being discussed. You are another group of rice boys but less severe. Some of you never held a wrench in your hand. You think sr20 swaps are that easy or brake conversions and many other stuff. Yeah it might be easy when you make us mechanics rich, but have you ever tried to do big job like a transmission rebuild and I'm talking to the guys that claim their mechanics. Some of you never set foot in a junkyard where you have to get stuff your self and not have somebody get it for you. That's my opinion and if I offended some people sorry. But 90% of you don't crap about your own cars and the other 10% know how to change their tires.

I dont understand- are you trying to get a rise out of us or something? Granted, Ive never done an engine swap before- but I know my way around the garage, and I've worked on many many different mechanical projects. Even still, there are tons of people on this board that know alot more than me... real mechanics who are able to diagnose and solve problems along with the best of them... I honstely dont understand the point of your post, "gearhead"... are you trying to put is in our place or something? seriously dude dont waste your time. nobody really cares if you think you know more about engines than we do... its actually even kinda amusing to see you put so much effort into putting down a group you seem to have so little respect for. If you're such an excellent mechanic, why dont you just get off line and head back to the garage, cause seriously man- nobody cares what you think.

thats a pretty arrogant thing to say, so you think because you work for a dealer that you are the god of Nico, congrats, you can do an oil change and replace a radiator, sorry buddy. try working at a real speed shop where you dont do everything byt he book and it acctually takes brains to engineer new things, not just look in a manual and put bolt A in hole B, dont think youre the man, theres people on this board that will blow you away. ;)

Hey gearhead, Go f*** yourself. Ok buddy, now we are all impressed about how cool you are and how much you know about cars. I may be wrong, but i never really see people bragging about how much they know about cars here. I'm no expert, but I sure know enough to work on my own car. And if its something i dont know, then I at least read up on it first to figure out if i can do it or not. I also think that most of the people on this board are pretty knowledgable, and even if some aren't, then they are at least trying to help another 240 owner. I think you are totally wrong in your post- most (99%) of the people here are not trying to flaunt their own knowledge, but to just get and give advice and info about 240's.

I'll just respond to the only thing that had a question mark.Yes, I do my own work up to a certain skill level. suspension, yesnormal maintenance (all fluids) yesbrakes yespaint yesreplacing common equip(alt, PS, Water pump, starter, radiator, plugs...) yeseverything up to the point of pulling heads out and messin with engine internals, but i'm quickly learning. That's why i'm here, to learn! And that's why everyone else is here as well. TO LEARN and if they're not learning they're teaching.

And like Fiznat and Eyestabpeople questioned, WHAT'S YOUR POINT?!I can't replace my own tires because I can't afford the equipment. I don't do my own transmissionwork because paying someone to do the work for me is worth my time and convienence. Why pull my transmission apart and go through the learning process over the course of a week for some thing that'll only have to be done once in the cars lifetime when someone can do it for me in an afternoon for a ligit price. But if I knew that I would get the satifaction of not giving business to some old cranky mechanic, then I would do it ALL my self.

Check your local paper for Anger management courses.Good day.

Transmission work sucks so I have never bothered to learn, Torry wants to try it so I suppose maybe we'll pick it up. : ) Also, the last time I was in a junkyard getting my own parts it was a frickin thunderstorming monsoon and I was three cars up trying to pull the console out of a RX-7 with no windows. : ) I wanted the gas cap lock as well, but I'm not a gymnist. : )

Oh yeah, and I'm gonna close this because it doesn't serve much of a valid point. : ) Next time you post you should try something constructive, a lot of people are here to learn.
