Somewhere around 18-22 when I can keep out of boost. In boost is pretty bad on the wallet.

I get usually 21-24mpg, and I do mostly city driving. You people must have heavy feet.

Wow, yeah. City, driving REALLY hard, I'll get about 25. If I'm good, I'll get around 30. Highway, I've gotten anywhere from 35-38.

depends what you consider HARD.. I personally shift at 4000-4500 every gear and floor it.. I usually go faster then the posted speed limit by 10-25mph (depending on the roads) and take turns that you're supposed to take at 15mph doing 35... I have been driving this way for the past 3 or so years and I have NEVER gotten a ticket or crashed my car... i'm just lucky I guess... but my gas bill sucks..

that is a really inaccurate way to gauge gas consumption. The only surefire way would be to fill your car up all the way, zero out trip odometer, drive untill your tank is near empty, fill up again on same pump, and divide the reading on the odometer by the amount that is required to fill the tank the second time.

Btw to answer your question acrawford, I get like 18 if ive been feeling especially throttle happy, or 21 if ive been taking it easier. I can never go a day without one good hard pull though, its just too tempting . I dont really do any highway driving though.

I've got a 91, with a number of mods. I'd imagine a 97 is better on gas due to being in better general shape and having the 232/232 cams as well.

The way I gauge gas consumption is just fill up with 10 gallons, reset the tripometer, run it to empty or thereabouts and divide by ten.

I am guessing my mileage since my trip thing is busted... this last time I filled up I put in 14.1 gallons.. (I know it's a 14g tank) my car was running on fumes when I pulled into the station it quit once I put it in park.. I wrote down the mileage when I filled up so next time I fillup I can tell you my actuall day to day mileage...

Thanks, but trust me, its not nearly as nice as it appears. Its got some ugly *** passenger side damage(not my fault), scrapes on every panel, and fading paint. I got really lucky on that picture haha. Rims and lowering by kts definately helped though.

Yeah I had some damage on both of my front fenders... the car used to live in DC and with all of the parallel parking it's like a big game of bumper cars there... hit the car in front.. hit the car behind.. then pull out.. HAHA I went to my local junkyard and pulled two mint fenders off a fastback.. now my car is dent free but it resembles a patchwork quilt.. (my car is red the fenders are black and a new door I got is maroon) I got all the parts for only $90! next comes a paintjob and rims... Then LSD and Turbo.. (till the KA blows) then a SR20 Swap

s13 has a 15.9 gallon tank, per owner's manual, I've filled up as much as 15.7 gallons. In mixed driving, I've gotten @ 22-24 mpg. Hwy as much as 33mpg (cross country trip through Rockies) measured as naed240sx described.

15.9? does the coupe have the same size gas tank? I have never been able to get more then 14g in it... I could swear my manual said it was a 14g tank...

I see no reason why the coupe and hatch would be different. The low fuel light is supposed to go on at approximately 2 gallons left. "supposed to"

I usually get about 16-17. I dont know exactly what I did maintanence (done SO MUCH stuff) but I went from doing 185-190 miles per tank, to 215-220 miles per tank. Probably vacuum hoses and my intake.

^Theres some good specs for yall. Consumerguide is an excellent resource. Coupe and Hatch are very similar in almost all aspects.

I did the calcualtion and I get about 30MPG all the time. The least I ever got was 29.92 and this is on a 91' Basemodel 5 speed. Mostly all Highway driving where i'm at. Spirited Highway driving.

most gas gauges are. Ever taken a turn and seen the gas gauge rise? or fall? My winter beater does that all the time.[

~26MPG, roughly half city, half HW.

'92 DE, fresh rebuild, all smog equip.

Timing at 22*, 91 octane, 4900-5300' elevation

I think my diff is really worn, that's probably the only thing hurting my MPG right now.

I get 21.5-22 City, and about 28 or so highway. The fuel consumption between city and highway is like night and day. If I even take a 30-40mile trip on the highway my mpg for the tank shoots up abit.

This leads me to suspect that the rough idle may be a major culprit.

I get about 27-29 on highway, and 23-25 in city... 91 se with 110k miles... I've gotten over 400 miles on tank before the gas light came on... but I only fill up when I go on trips... if not, it's always $10 of 92 octane... 95 if I feel like wasting money

240s are notorious for this... The 'quarter tank' indicators on my S14 are really closer to a 1/5 of a tank.

my gauge isnt working but on my way to austin (all hwy, ~200 miles) i filled up until a little gas spilled out, reset the trip odo, at the end of the trip refilled again, and divided the miles driven by the gallons that it took. got 31mpg on the way there with a/c off, 28.x with it on
