Hey all - i was checking my odomoter on the way home from work - watching it turn over to 59,800 - I always watch the the rollovers. I pulled in to my garage with 59,802 - which means I have driven my Q 12,402 miles. I see many gen. Q's with 150k, 200k, 250k on them on the board. I was wondering who has driven their Q the most miles - not whose has the most miles but how many miles you have driven the Q. Sorry, long post, easy question....

On my 1991 Q, about 100k milesOn my 1995 Q, about 116k miles

for a total of about 226k Qmiles (smiles)!

EDIT: Actually, I just realized I made an error! Per the original post, I cannot count the 55k that were on the 1995 Q when I got it (used lease return). So I need to drop my total by that amount. So, total miles I have driven a Q is about 171k Qmiles.

About 6000 miles driven for me, with 176400 on the odometer. Aiming for 250k! Being only 700 or so miles from T3, that shouldnt be too hard.

For a Q, 700 miles is nothing. :)

251,729 minus the 18 miles when I picked it up and a few thousand when someone else drove on trips say 249,700 miles in the same 1990 Q........in 13 years and 6 weeks. In June 1997 it turned 100,000. Obviously the next 6 saw significantly more driving ~~ then next 100k took only 3 years and 2 months. Then it got to rest a little.

The amazing thing is that the car has never been farther West than Mobile, farther South than Ft. Myers and only North to DC.....other than Japan. In 1994, I found a paper bag with some wax paper and a note to someoneone's husband in Japanese in the area near the gas tank where the builder ate lunch {?} in the trunk sometime in Jan 1990 during the build. Infiniti sent me a new set of floor mats for the note.

Just out of curiosity, how many more miles do you think your Q will go, Dennis?? You have had it since day one, you have to have some sort of idea on how long it will last.....

i've put close to 2000 miles on the Q(1990) since i bought it in feb. i'm currently at a dilema,,,,,,,the odometer works only sometimes, so i know that it has over 100k for sure, bought it with 99K. i'm figuring the current total mileage is anywhere from 100-120k(the speedo was replaced around 5 years ago, thinking the plug is loose since everything else works). my thinking is,,,since i plan on keeping my beloved Q till she takes her last breath, do i bother fixing the odometer??? since i don't know when it stopped functioning properly, is there any point???? oh well, will probobly just drive and enjoy my Q, and if i ever decide to get rid of her it will be to someone here(hopefully), so now you all know!!! jeff

"Just out of curiosity, how many more miles do you think your Q will go, Dennis?? "

.................hopefully to 300k............ depends on the rod bolts and rod bearings as the rings are still in good shape. The engine still sees a lot of 7,000 rpm shifts........and probably has the power of a brand new engine.......the JWT ecu is making up what is lost to wear so far. If it starts to smoke it will have to go.

Remember this is the third transmission and it is a reman already with 30k, the replacement diff probably has 90k, the 2nd drive shaft has 130k, but all new AC except orginal evaporator.

The only question that will retire the car is when will the engine go, as it doesn't make sense to change the engine with my paint so bad.......easier to find another with a good engine and change all my good parts over.

As Fred has done probably update to a 94-95 and make it more 90ish.........by using a 90 transmission/ecus/springs sway bars.

T3 owner Charles has finally retired the 455k 1990 Q and has moved over all the suspension/exhaust/ecus/ties/wheels/goodies to a identical colored 1992.......which needed guides and a cylinder head [we paid $750 for the "new" car].........which probably has 40 hours of labor and $2,000 [at cost] worth of newer parts so it really cost T3 ...........$4,000...........likely that the old car can generate maybe $1500 of used parts.

My problem is I like Gray on Gray and they are hard to find. The leather color makes the difference as the darker it is the better it hold up [Black/blue/gray].......the worst are white and tan.

The '90 was purchased January of 1996 with 59k miles. I didn't do most of the driving & haven't driven it over the past couple of years it currently has 132k.

I bought my '94 Q, in May, of 2002, and it had 105,000 +/- miles on the ODO, now it has 157,700 +/- miles on the ODO. For a grand total of 52,700 miles +/-

I bought my(wife's) 2000 I30t, in December, 1999, with 6 miles on the ODO, and there is now 37,000 +/- miles on it. For a grand total of .... 37,000 +/-

Boy, the math is just too much for me, sometimes.

I've had my 94 Q 1 year as of Sunday the 6th and cruised a little over 17K, but that number is high, b/c I've made 5 trips to South Ga.

Stupid me hasn't stopped at T3, YET.

I'm not ready to get rid of my Q yet, but you can always make me an offer... '92 Q about 188K miles same color as yours.

Leather is nearly perfect except for wear on outside of driver's seat.

92 Q, 133,000 miles original owner, if I read the thread correctly, Dennis is the only one ahead of me to have actually put the miles on as an owner? Although I'm not sure about Greg, did you put all the 188k on Greg? I'm not so sure I would like to be second or third in this contest that would propably mean I would win for money spent too!

Hey now... I have a copyright on that "Q1, Q2" stuff!! :D

I bought Q1 in 1996 with about 83K on it, so we're at about 108K of my miles. Fairly even mileage at 15-20K/year. I've driven Q2 for about 320 miles since purchasing her in November of 2002. Most of that took place on a trip from San Francisco to Carmel and then back to Oakland the week I bought her, and then about 60-70 miles around Columbia.

Incidentially, I just brought over the floor jack, jack stands, and ramps over to my house (from my parents garage) in hopes of starting her suspension renovations this week!
