I'm very curious as to how well an Infiniti lasts over a long period of time. As a current Infiniti owner, I consider Infiniti one of the very few luxury car makers that you don't lease, but you actually buy and keep for a long period of time. I would never buy a German or domestic luxury car. If you check consumer report for any of the German manufactures in terms of reliability you'll find they are horrible cars to own past their warranties. So please tell me how many miles do you have on your Infiniti and have you had any major problems over the years you've driven your pride and joy. Your input is greatly appreciated.

I have a 1996 I30T with 134,000 miles on it. No major problems at all.

Welcome to NICO

I have around 50k on my '07 G35s sedan and 28k on my '08 G37s coupe. No major issues with the coupe. The '07 had some issues resolved but the car was used when I bought it and I don't know how the upkeep was. The '07 was picked up via a trade-in of my 2k2 Maxima with 158k miles.

At this time, I have put only 20k miles on my 2008 G37S coupe. To avoid rust, I don't drive it much in the winter. This winter, it only got out twice.

So far, my only warranty issue has been a brief buzz in the instrument cluster when I hit a sharp bump. The dealer technician cured it by lubricating the mounting point for the cluster.

I did have to replace the rear tires at 15k miles when they were only 45% worn. But that was due to a screw in the edge of a sidewall, not to any defect on Infiniti's part.

Long ago, I had a Datsun 810 which was the predecessor to the Maxima. It lasted 16 years before I sent the rusty hulk to the junk yard.

2003 G35 Sedan 5AT

153,500 Miles on the odometer right now. Everythings been pretty good. replaced a lot of bushings, mostly cuz I wanted to, a few cuz they were just wearing out. A few little things here and there but nothing major.

I have a ton of mods and no adverse affects, but noticeably better gas mileage on the HWY.

We have 5 Infiniiti's in our house hold now, but we had I30T and QX4 too.

So based on 7 Infiniti's experience these cars have been good cars for us so far for our money.

03 G35coupe (106K miles)..03 FX35 48K, 05 FX45 50K, 07 G35 Sedan 33k and 09 G37convertible about 4k so far... so between 5 cars we have over 240K miles... so far no major repairs out of our pockets except the regular maintenance...

Not bad cars for your money.

01/02 Pathy 4x4 - issues with O2 and cam shaft pos sensors02 Max - O2 sensorsTHese we had for less than 50K each, so wasn't impressed with reliability.

05 G Sedan: new thru 38K, chain tensioner went bad, unknown internal issue that went bad related to oil hydrolics - 3 trips to Infiniti - kept for over 1 month the last time.

04 G Coupe: 44K to present 63K - driver's seat motor replaced. AC compressor replaced. Window motor acting up presently.

I don't think you should be buying Infinitis for reliability. Perhaps look to Honda or Ford for that. I had better 'luck' with my Fords reliability.(69 Mach 1, 87 Turbo Coupe Tbird, 88 Bronco II 4x4, 90 Taurus Wagon, 98 Taurus sedan, 96 Cobra, 97 Cobra, 98 GT)

With that said, we LOVE our G's!!!!

07 G35x, 62k. Front rotors ground at 35k on warranty stock front pads still, new pads rear 58k, new tires 58k. Change oil (5w-30 Synthetic) and rotate tires every 5k. Did 35k at dealer (only dealer service)...due for 60k now. Knock on wood all is well...great car. Avg 21mpg for 62k miles. I should have 95k on it by end of this year.

07 G sedan 75500 miles, brakes, plugs, brakes tires and brakes.... brakes. I'm a little hard on brakes and tires. Change them both at least once a year.

An update for this. Went to tighten bolts. Bolts weren't loose.

Front metal bracket near the tunnel on Driver's seat is broken almost completely in half. Taking it to Infiniti tomorrow, doubt they'll cover it under any warranty (but my argument is that its a safety issue, like seatbelts, should always be covered). Guess we'll see.

I have 10K on my 2009 G37 Coupe. No problems except for the replacement of the driver's side seat cushion under warranty. My mom has a 2005 FX35 with about 25K and has had no problems except for a recall on her headlights. Both cars have been great.

Before this, we had many Nissans in the family starting with a 82 Maxima. All of them were good cars with no major problems. My first car was a 84 200SX that I put 90K on with only minor issues. That was my car in college and it was always outside in Oklahoma. Great car, too. I also put 100K on a 91 Sentra SE-R in 8 years and only had an AC compressor fail.

I can't say enough about Nissan products. I have had a few problems but nothing big. I think they are the best value for the buck for Japanese cars and the looks are way better than Toyota or Honda products. But that is just my opinion!

I bought my 06 sport coupe in Feb 2009 with 4700 miles. Yup only 4700 miles. 13 months later she is at 27,106. I am in outside sales so she is adding up the miles quickly.

The only problem I had were the squeaky brakes. Waiting til they wear down to change the pads to Akebono or Hawks.

squeaky brakes is just an issue with disk breaks when 50% pads are gone...

2004 G35X with 66K: Bought with about 44K. Replaced both rear calipers at different times due to seizing. Changed pads to ceramic and brake dust significantly reduced. No other significant problems. 60K service done by dealer ~$700. Added Stillen CAI – great mod. Replaced tires with Yoko Avids – very pleased.

Also, 2008 G35XS: Bought new. Now has 32K. Other than scheduled maintenance, both front rotors and pads replaced @ 30K. No other issues to date – none! Ready for tires now.

Overall very satisfied with both cars. The ’08 has all the bells & whistles and is faster/sportier but I think the ’04 is more fun to drive .
