How many miles do you get on new brakes?

So my last set of pads only last me about 16K miles with mostly street driving and some desert off-roading. How many miles do you guys get out of a set of pads? I'm pretty disappointed with 16K and would love to find a pad with a longer life. I'm sure slotted rotors don't help either. I'm also curious as to how much life you lose when going with slotted rotors.

The last time I got brakes on my rig I was a senior in high school. They were new rotors and ceramic pads. Work was done at the dealer so I dont know who makes the parts, but I still have a decent amount left on the pads. Plan on upgrading to new rotors and ebc stickey stuff pads when I upgrade to 35's

If I get 25-30,000 out a set of pads I'm happy. This has been rule of thumb on all my cars. Longest I've ever got out a set was 40

on a pathfinder 20-30k for average brakes & average driving

throw in performance pads and larger wheels, however, and it'll be well under 20k miles. i remember i was shocked at how fast i wore down my hawk pads. Now i'm back to thermoquiets.

I've got 186,000 miles on my '01 PF. I think I've changed them three, maybe four times. The most recent change was at 181,000. Let's
assume that was the fourth change. So went through four sets in 181,000, do the math. 45,250 per set. Not bad. And until recently,
about 1/3 of my miles were towing a 2000-pound boat trailer that doesn't have brakes.

I use the stock Nissan pads.
