How many miles do I need to drive before I can retest?

I changed my VTC sensor and I went to autozone and had them erase the 1140 code. The SES lite has not come back on after driving about 5miles. It usually comes back on after shutting off the engine and starting it back up, but it didn't this time, so I'm hoping that replacing the sensor has fixed my problem. When AutoZone erased the code, was that enough to "reset" whatever needed to be reset? If so, how many miles do I need to drive before I can have the car tested for emissions?

It's about 40 miles before you can re-test. I usually do 50 just to be on the safe side.
