Hey guys I am new to do this whole scene. I really fell in love with a 95 240sx and I bought it. Now I am concerned about the mileage. The car has 205k on the original motor. I eventually want to modify but until I save up the money to do so I want to use it as a daily. How many miles can these motors handle if well maintained. Any help is appreciated.

every motor is different, if the owner took care of it then you should be fine but going out and pinging the rev limiter "drifting" and s*it like that would make it a no go or a rebuild. just go and look at it and start it and if you see blue smoke from the exhaust then it most likely needs new piston rings. test drive it and if it pulls smooth through the rpms then you got yourself a keeper

^^ What he said. There isn't some magic number of miles at which a motor will start to fall apart. If the previous owner(s) performed regular preventative maintenance and didn't try to hot rod the thing then the car will be more likely to hold up well. Just keep in mind that the higher the mileage, the more likely things will begin to wear out and break. I think the best thing you could do is get a trusted mechanic to check the car out.

If you're gonna replace engine internals might as well motor swap.

Million miles easy if you properly maintain it.

my first s14 had 183k miles, and it was ragged on pretty bad. me being 16 and stupid, I drove it just as hard, and didn't change the oil as regularly as I should have. When I wrecked it, it had 205k miles, and the guy I sold it to is still driving it around with no problems. the biggest thing I had to replace was the water pump and tstat. the ka is a beast when it comes to life span. On my new one I change the oil every 3k miles, and I don't drive it that hard. just take care of it, and it should last you quite a while

headgaskets normally start to go around 200k. the iron block, alum. head combo doesnt seem to hold up too well.

My KA went 202,000 before I swapped it out. It was still running strong. A bit of leak from the rear main, but it still served great as a daily.
