There is never to many miles if the car was maintained properly.

anything under like 250-300k is just fine, my grandmother has like 210k on hers and hasnt had any problems. I only have 130k though, not much at all.

like 574 240sx said, its all about how the car was maintained. the ka is also an extremely well-made motor. still, dont forget to look for problems.

if youre going to look at a car, one place i know to check is underneath the brake master cylinder, that area tends to rust out.

Even though 240 are well known to reach high mileage with good performance, when looking for one....the lower the mileage, the better shape the car will be. At least on 99.95 of the cases...Anything thats running on 150,000 and with questionable past unknown maintenance is at risk of needing overhaul soon....this is my personal belief...anything with 200,000 or higher , stay away from it !!!!

Incase your looking for a doner say for a motor swap check the chassis have it put on a overhead lift and check for rust or any other damage to the chassis, a motor can be fixed as well as the suspension and interior but fixing a chassis(rusted floorboards, trunkwell, inner fenders, etc) maybe be costing you more than its worth.

Of course as low as you can find is ideal, but the stock KA engine will live for quite some time with maintenance and fresh oil According to some of these guys, mine is in the young end of middle-aged at ~160K.

You will want to be aware of the timing chain though, fixing that is a biatch haha. I fixed my timing chain and needed new injectors around 155K, that was expensive.

Knowing how the car was driven and maintained will be your best friend in choosing the right car, but fear not, aside from the timing chain problem, KA's are pretty stout in stock configuration.
