I've got an avicz1 in my car. No real need for double din unless you have nav.

Cake, just like installing a radio. only you are getting rid of the bottom pocket.

Just single DIN here. I'm guessing that 95% of people with a double DIN setup are using HU's with a screen like the AVIC units mentioned in here.

I just installed a Kenwood DVD/GPS unit... pretty much just like the Pioneer Deal except the GPS maps are stored internally instead of by disc (you can download new maps by disc too)

Installation is exactly like a single din unit except you get rid of the 2nd pocket...

I have single din. Most people have 'single' din cd players but those are normally, not all, aftermarket radios. Most oem radios are double din. In-dash DVD players are normally screened, not all. For those that aren't are normally used for built-in screen headrests. Some are single din and some are double. When it comes to installing or customizing your car audio/video system period, it usually isn't that hard. It's just a matter of what componants you have to work with and if you don't have the right componants and accesories for hooking everything up together, then it'll take longer due to hardwiring and soldering. But I wouldn't recommend In-dash DVD players unless you have a really good security setup on your car. People are stupid crazy these days. Bleh.

I just recently replaced my original, double-din unit with a single-din one.

This means I get to have the little storage pocket beneath it to keep my valuables in. Yay me!

My answer to a double din opening for a single din HU (a little glass and paint). Personally I LOVE you guys who have the DD touch screens, it looks pretty sick. Maybe one day I will ball like that...............after i spend a small fortune on school. I hate being broke.
