If the natural self discharge of a battery is 1% per day and the parasitic losses from electronic memories [radio, ecu, body control, etc] is about 2 ampere hours per day.

The winter question is how many days left at airport will a half charged battery last and still crank the vehicle without a jump.

Ampere hours of storage capacity declines with temperature. At 32F a battery can only supply 65% of rating. At 0F they are down to 40%..

I would think 85-100 ampere hours BASED on a 6 HOUR TEST not the usual 20 hour test would be good for Canada

The heavist battery that will fit is often the best rule as the weight of the lead is the best indicator..............33 vs 35 vs 38 vs 45 pounds.

500cca vs 800cca

Factory specification is 582 CCA, Nissan replacement batteries are 575 CCA

Always good to exceed factory minimum specification since aftermarket batteries may not be as rigorously tested as oem batteries.

If your plans are to keep the Murano, I'd go with the biggest battery that I could afford! If you think you might be replacing it in the next year or two, then I would get the recommended replacement.Funny side note. Battery in my 95 Maxima lasted 8 years, so I got another one from Nissan, lasted 2 years. WTF? I thought that it was a better battery so pd $135 plus tax for it. Next time I'll just get one from Canadian Tire for $80. LOL.I know, it's electrical, it can last a day, it can last a long time. So, I guess keeping the receipt for warranty purposes is important no matter which you get.Hmm, I'm long winded.

I have run into a similar situation with my battery. Just remember that the Murano is a "drive by wire" vehicle. If the battery is left off after several hours you may need to perform a ECU reset and/or idle air and throttle re-learn. This is mentioned in a Murano TSB and by my local Nissan "Stealership".
