About two weeks ago, i put on my shakacho (coilovers) and it lowered the car a lot compared to stock but today i wanted it lower. So i started lowering it and after a few whole turns of the collar the spring started to "float" "freely"..basically it got turned too far for the spring to reach it. I did the same to the other side and put on the wheels and took it off the jack. its not as low as i want it.

So my question is, how low is too low? and i now the spring will sit on the collar after taking the car off the jack but is that bad for it? is the next 2" of drop worth it?

thanx

CST is the same as KTS in that it doesnt go low in the rear without running uncaptive spring.

As for being too low, your too low when your tension rod brackets clearanced them selfs on the road a long time ago and your bellhousing scrapes on lane markers.

but on kts or CST you'll have to droop so much spring that you'll blow your shocks in a week.

low is when your bumper touches the floor. and low is when you don't even think about clearing a speed bump. because its impossible without tearing the bumper off in the process.

Lol, I think youre simply turning the wrong collar, and not actually lowering it

LMAO...if these are true coilovers not sleeve overs, then you need to turn the bottom mount towards the right to make your coilovers overall height shorter. This makes your car lower..........

Indeed you are right, and i found out a little later and just didnt post back..at first I wasnt actually threading the threads into the part that bolts onto the hub, but problem is solved now , now the only problem is i need an alignment.
