how loud is a lsd usually????

I just installed a nismo 2way lsd and the thing is louder than ****, how loud and noticeable is it supposed to be??

is this a street car?? if so, you should have went with a 1.5

anyway, yes they are loud at slow speeds.

in a parking lot, it almost sounds like the wheel is rubbing the fenderlining.

helical and viscous LSD units are quiet.

you are using fluid with a lsd additive or fluid with the additive allready in it right? somthing like KAZZ fluid or redline additive/fluid

is it a chatter or a whur?

if it's a whur or a moan, then you didn't calculate your backlash or preload right (assuming you had to use your old carrier for the 2way)

if it's chatter, that's the nature of the beast. much like with a puck style clutch, it will make a bit of noise.

I ihave Kaaz 2way and it's louder than the Nismo. I use Redline shockproff with LSD addictive from Ford Dealership. The addictive really help with the clunking noice but it's still loud as a mofo at low speed turning. Don't worry about your axles going to break, unless you installed it wrong then worry a lot, but that noise is a sound of pure beauty ^_^.

i have kaaz clutch type in mine. its really loud and clunky going around corners. sounds like your car is falling apart. but this is normal operation for a kaaz. im using 80-90 with GM lsd additive. make sure you use proper fluid or fluid equivalent. make sure you broke in the lsd properly. find empty parking lot, drive in figure 8's for half an hour. *notice i said drive, not drift!!! people might think your crazy and mall security might bother you too. all the good things that come with buying an lsd.
