A question. I know I've read a lot of bad things about the stock tires on here, but I really haven't had an issue with them yet. But I am wondering how long they're going to last, and if I need to budget for new ones soon I'd like to know, if possible. I've got about 20,000 miles on my Versa, almost all on the highway. I'd expect to get another 10,000 or so on the rubber. Is this reasonable?

Are you kidding me?Tires should last for like 80 000 km, again depending how u maintain them, how you drive and where you drive.

Well, as of this morning mine have 44,448 miles on them, and they still look pretty good. Just be sure to rotate them when the service schedule says to.

I worked on a Versa that had 50,000 miles and two tires were replaced BUT the guy didn't rotate his.

As far as tires lasting a certain amount of time, there are so many factors in how long they will last. I have seen tires replaced after 18,000 miles (350Z, M3, etc.) and I have seen tires last 60,000 miles (my dad's Goodyear Assurance tires on his Intrepid). It all depends. Most OEM tires on Nissans last between 20,000 and 40,000, some a lot less, some a lot more. Continentals, previous to the Sport Contact 2s have traditionally worn out faster, but not nearly as fast as Goodyear Eagle RS-As found on the Maxima 18s (garbage tires, sidewalls crack after 2 years). I have dealt with tires for over 3 years and have a good knowledge of them, so I have seen many mileage ranges.

The Camel has 19,200 miles on him and the tires are still looking good... (only been rotated once because Jeff didn't catch it to rotate them the first time...)

Thanks for all of the input, folks. I knew it could be all over the map, but I've read so many things on the forum and others about the "bad" stock tires on the V. I've never had much of a problem, but I'm a pretty mellow driver especially in bad weather. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't on the verge of having an issue. Last time I had them rotated (about 5K ago) everything looked good, so I guess I'm OK. Thanks.

I think that if you went from the stock Contis to something else, you'd notice a big difference. The gripe on the Contis isn't their life... it's their tread and performance. Stock wheels are never spectacular, on any vehicle. (It's similar to companies making a cheaper product for certain outlets... Reynolds produces the 'Kroger' brand aluminum foil, but it has less quality than the 'Reynolds' brand. Rockford Fosgate makes good subs, but that doesn't mean the sub in the Versa is spectacular.)
