Hey guys I have a quick question.

The time has finally come and I have finally pieced my whole kit together god I taught this day would never come.

Anyways I have a SOHC and Im going to be just putting the turbo kit on it including an oil cooler. How long on an average should it take me to do this project? I tried search but I really can't find anything.

Im also asking cause this car is my daily driver heh I know kinda stupid but I figure worst come to worst I can get the wifey to drive me to work. :p.

I was wondering if I started the project on a Friday morning would do you think it would be ready for tuning on Sunday? All I really have to do is put in the IC Do all the piping, put on the exhaust manifold, run all my oil line, make a bung on the oil pan, and put my injectors in, and Im pretty sure some problems will come along the way but I pretty much got all my wiring done for my turbo time I got all my wiring done on my electric fans and boost gouge.

Thanks in advance for any suggestion and help.

Its definatly possible to get the car running in 3 days but I wouldnt count on it. You never know what problem you are going to run into. I ended up doing my KAT in 3 days combined time, but I split up the work into one day per weekend pretty much. I recommend you do the same so you can get each component of the system working so you dont have to solve a million problems at once.

One day put in your fuel management while the car is still not turbo and get the car running right like that. This includes fuel injectors, electronics, fuel pump, etc.

On the next day get the intercooler mounted and get the coldpipe fabed up and bring the hotpipe into the engine bay from the intercooler side so you only need to connect the turbo outlet to the intercooler piping and your done. You can probably go ahead and get your oil cooler installed on this day aswell.

Once all this is done its a matter of swapping manifolds, running a few oil, water, vacuum lines, finishing the intercooler piping and geting the car started. This way you wont have to trouble shoot injector problems vs. wiring problems vs. boost leaks and so on.

First thing you need to do is drop the oil pan. When we just did my friends we did it on thursday night and was finished saturday night. Thursdya night we removed everything stock. Friday night we took off the oil pan and replaced with one of mine that was already welded. Only thing we did Friday, besides takign off front bumper.... Saturday from noon until 10 PM we workign on his car. Spent 3 hr's driving around trying to get a downpipe made. I strongly recommend you just buy another oil pan unless you have a welder at your house... Make sure you got all your oil and radiator fluids. Go buy some extra hose clamps. The day before installing we put in his fuel pump and safc. Took about an hr under the hot florida sun.

That's exactly how I planned on doing it. Getting pretty much everything I can mounted in the weeks leading up to the install, so all that's left is bolting up the turbo and hooking everything up.

I may go ahead and get a barrel of race gas prior to doing the install. This will be my first turbo install, and I would rather pay for a bunch of race fuel, than pay for a new engine and do it all over again!!

Great,

Thats pretty much how I did it. I worked out all the kinks and problems with my car first replaced all the old parts with new ones. Only reason why I havent put in my injectors yet is cause im going to take off the Intake manifold so I can have easier access to the oil filter area for my sandwitch adapter. But yah thanks for all the responses.
