I am doing an RB20 swap into a hardbody and moving the engine mounts forward. The driveshaft needs to be IDENTICAL to the auto driveshaft from my 1993, but it NEEDS the 5speeds yoke.

The rb transmission is two inches longer than the automatic hardbody transmission.

FYI: The regular cab automatic hardbody driveshaft is about 54 inches (not counting the length of the yoke). The S13 240 5 speed driveshaft is about 44 inches (again, not counting the yoke). The regular cab automatic hardbody transmission is about 31 inches. The 5 speed RB20 transmission is about 33 inches.

Hope this info is useful to someone.

I have 1991 ext cab hardbody 5 speed, I will measure it but it is 2 piece. Will do it tomorrow and post once the rain stops here. I will measure both pieces and give the lengths of each. You will have to factor in the bearing and its brace. I will also measure from diff to 5 speed transmission. If you can wait until tomorrow I will give over all and each one by themselves. But it is pouring here so I am not crawling in the rain LOL.

Thank you very much. I would appreciate the information. I am contemplating what pieces of what driveshafts I could possibly piece together to get the desired length.

OK... second question. Anyone know if a hardbody driveshaft will slide into a RB20 transmission? same "yoke"?? (I think that is the proper word..) The RB20 transmission slid right onto the stock s13 240sx driveshaft, and since the 240sx and the hardbody had the same motor and similar transmission, I am hoping that they have the same size "yoke".

If the hardbody and the s13 240sx have the same size "yoke" then I should have no major problems. Can anyone tell me if they are the same size yokes for the 2 nissans????

22 inches for front part of driveshaft and 41 1/2 inches for rear section of driveshaft. Could not get a measure from front to rear total as the center support bearing has me blocked. It appears about 5-6 inches is the thickness of the front and rear part of bearing assembly. the front of shaft slides into the bearing and the rear bolts on. Hope that helps but I could not get a full over all length of entire shaft. Appears to have some wiggle room where shaft slides together at center bearing. Shaft in rear bolts on both ends to the flat plates, the front slides into bearing assembly and bolts to plate on transmission. Hope this helps some. You may be able to call a drive shaft company and get exact overall length. if needed they can shorten or extend the shafts to reach. I am sure the bolt up points will be different so the ends may have to be replaced at a driveshaft shop anyway and they can make the length work.

So it's around 68-70 inches or so (roughly guessing) from the rearend to the transmission?
