Debating on if I should go with hid fogs or led fogs. Quite a few body shops I've spoken to said I should expect to change either a ballast or a bulb in 1-2 years. So I'm curious of what is your ballast and bulb, and how long have you been running it without changing anything? And what is usually the first to go?
If I go with hid I'm looking at morimoto. Led I don't know yet.

172 views and nobody changed out any parts of their hid fog replacement? Or can testify to their setup lasting 4+ years?

Not sure why they told you you would need to change ballast or bulb every 1-2 years. The HID's on my car now I'm sure have been on the car for a while.

Unless they assume you're going to get something very cheap to put has HID fogs, that may have triggered that comment from them. HID's usually last long.

Mine have been going for at least 3+ years. No issues.

As long as you wire them properly (meaning prevent water from getting into the harness), you should be good for a while. My driver side has been fine for probably 2+ years now but my driver side died the other day because water got into the connector and melted the plug. Had to re-create my own terminals, etc.

Which bulbs and ballasts are you guys using? I was going to go with ddm, but decided morimoto because they seem brighter and have better reputation on ignition with less to no misfires.

I just seem to be seeing WAY too many cars with one of their hid out.

I used to run DDM when they had decent ballasts, before everyone and their momma sold hid kits. Now i run Morimoto, highly reliable. I cant comment on LED as i havent tried a set yet.
