hi i am about to buy a 97 240sx se from a freind with a blown motor and a bad transmission(Manual) i am going to buy an engine and a transmission from a pick and pull. i am going to do the swap with my older brother who has done some swaps before (replaced engines in mustangs and camaros) i was wondering how long on average does it take 2 or 3 guys to do a complete swap of engine and transmission. the car is a manual and it will stay that way. BTW the engine which i am going to buy is from an A.T. 240 that is not going to matter as long as i have all the original parts form the other engines right?

Thats a hard question to answer. If you have shop facilities and if you are familiar with these engines, a weekend is no problem. Depends on how long you work each day and how many little problems come up.

You will need to change out that auto pilot bushing and install a manual one and change out the flex plate for the manual fly wheel. I am assuming you are getting a obd11 engine.

5-7 hours from the pulling of your old one, installation of the new one and filling it up with all the fluids. Troubleshooting however, the sky's the limit.
