I pierced my cartilage 3 weeks ago, and I was wondering when can I take it out to put something else in.

Also, how long should I keep cleaning it. I've been cleaning it twice a day with rubbing alcohol and it hasn't gotten infected *Knocks on woods*

with cartilage, I do believe you should probably wait at least 6 weeks so the hole properly heals.

I don't have any piercings though, just a basic understanding of how the body works.

It's different for everyone. You have to find out yourself, you'll know what type of metals you can use after about 2 months (if you switch it up) and then cleaning it is really based on how much you sweat or how dirty you get.

Leave it in till your boyfriend tells you it's ok.

^ That's what I say! You should leave it in for 8 weeks, it will be easier to get the new ear ring in. And wtf is with all the gay jokes it's just a ear piercing... People are so judgemental psshh lame.

leave it on for 90 days.

I left it on for 90 days, but cleaned it daily. I haven't worn an earring in 7 months and the hole is still there.

It took over a year for mine to heal properly. In retrospect cartilage piercings are just too much of a pain in the a**.

The hell are you asking this question HERE?

April Fool's was Thursday. ........

If this is serious and you're seriously asking this question then I'm going to assume you had it done with a piercing gun. Good luck with that. Oh and it will be a year.

hey. ive had my cartilage pierced for about 4 months and it healed about 3 months or 12 weeks into it. the people where i pierced it told me to wait from 8 to 12 weeks to change the piercing. so it all depends on how quickly you heal

I have always left my piercings alone for about three months before I changed them. Its just better to be sure that everything is completely healed before you go messing with it.

Yes I'm serious. I pierced it myself by hand. I'll take a pic and post it on here if nobody believes me.

Alright, so 3 months then. I don't want to jump the gun and it not heal properly. Thanks.
