I am not enbarrased to admit that. Who cares. I didnt really wanna learn. Honestly. I bummed rides because I didnt have a car at the time. Then when we got married she dorve me for a like a week then was like no. I dont really see anything embarrasing about that. I was learning but at the same time not really.

Seemed realy strange reading this post and wondering what the fuss was about driving a manual, or stick as you call it. It's what 99% of the drivers are taught in over here. Then I remeberd the only time I have driven an automatic. It was a Honda accord and it was for sale and I decided to take it out for a test drive. It was a private sale so mr seller was sat next to me in the passenger seat and off we went, now I have always down shifted and engine braked when slowing down which lead to my downfall in an auto. We came to a right turn I need to take and I go for the clutch in the usual manner, foot hard down oops! now this is where I learnt that to take some of the space up of where the clutch should be they make the brake pedal the size of a dinner plate. After peeling my face from the windshield I concluded that at least the brakes worked ok an auto wasnt for me. Needless to say I didnt buy it and have never driven an auto since incase I end up braking my nose again.:mad: I wonder how some of you would get on now if you had to go back to an auto? do you think you'd get on ok as you learnt in them? at least you only get through transmission while learning a manual, I got a rather misshapen nose learning an auto :oface

I took my car out for my first drive today. With my dad as an instuctor. He was like "CLUTCH, GEAR, LITTLE GAS, BRAKE" the whole time it ( I only drove it for about 10mins). Even though he scared the s*** out of me I picked up on it pretty fast (he is a pretty big and intimidating guy). Cause there was tons of car pilled up behind me cause I stalled it about 3 times. He made me drive on a fairly busy street so I had to catch on quick. I now feel confident enough to drive by myself, I deffinatley need more practice though.
