Ok, how long can the car sustain 110 mph?

Keep in mind this in theory. I would never go 110 on the freeway @ 1AM when there is no one out. Never.

.. but IF I did, would anything bad happen to the ole engine.. dont want her to get mad at me

Not that I know of, just keep an eye on the temp gauge, and take note of any weird odors. Were talking just the motor here, so I wont go into what happens to your tires (mostly because I dont know, and it depends on the kind of tires you have). But it should be good, besides the fact that youll go through gas like a sonofa*****.

110 probably won't be so bad. The 240's have an electronically limited top speed, so you never actually hit it's actual drag-limited top speed. A lot of things go into account, but if you are cruising at 110, it won't be too bad. Trying to maintain the drag limited top speed could create more problems, but even then, if the motor is in good shape and the cooling system works well, I doubt it will be something you need to worry about.

so how are you gona know when the guy infront of you on the Hi-way kcik's a rock through your radiator and springs a leak? you might want to get that looked at soon. there's also the coolant hose colapsing and there is no visable sign of problems. but you won't have coolent flowing through the system. yeah you mmight want to check out the temp gauge. just a thought

I replaced the headgasket & still had heating issues.. went through two thermostats.. same problem.. Took it to nissan because I had the timing screwed up [had it flipped 180 degrees.. i already know im an idiot thx], they said "oh well your thermostat is bad"

So.. I said I just replaced it, but for $90 what a deal! Please do it again. So they did.

Pick up the car; drive it and within 5 minutes needle is almost pegged. Get out, take out thermostat, have been driving without it since.

I would LOVE to get it back.. heat/defrost = awesome

Ive replacedthermostat x 3radiatorupper radiator hosewater pumpsending units for the temp gauge

Had a new fan clutch from kragen but it wasn't functioning right so I just took it back..

I have a few things to try still; need to get a new fan clutch [this friday] and I also need to put the thermostat in and make sure the purge hole is @ 12 o'clock. Don't recall doing that last time and I was told it could cause an air lock..

My needle changes according to the temperature outside o_O

Example.. in Sacramento on a hot day like 100+, won't go past 1/2, never does.. Goto a place where its 30 degrees outside and the needle is barely past the lowest point, blowing a hint of warm air out..

My fan is currently engaged only when it's cold outside.

I hope I get this fixed

well the top hose feeds the engine and the lower hose is the engine collant output. if either one fail's is breaks the cycle. the top hose fail's more often though.

Radiator hose problems: Swollen hose. This hose has lost its elasticity and is swelling under pressure. It may soon rupture. Hardened hose. This hose has become brittle and will break and leak. Cracked hose. This hose has cracked and will soon start to leak. Soft hose. This hose has become very weak and may collapse and close up completely

I had a overheating problem on my first car and didn't know why. a friend showed me that my top hose was soft. and showed me how to replace it. problem fixed. to me it didn't look broken at all. but i guess were allways learning. Have you tred using a aftermarked temp gauge?

cruisin at 110 won't be bad at all. my ka24e has 168k on it and i still bring it up to 110 all the time. as long as its well maintained you're good to go.

Did you replace the radiator cap with the new radiator? Most people overlook the cap when they have overheating issues. A bad cap that cant hold pressure will cause your coolant to boil at a lower temperature than its supposed to.

I'm not sure, but In my car I remember going 100 mph In 4th gear and the rpm's were at 5,500.

Leper I replaced the cap atleast once =/

Cheap enough that doing again wouldn't hurt.. when I get the new fan clutch ill see what if I can fix the problem.

Upper hose is still fairly new but would be worth changing them both just incase

110 is nuthin for a KA, in 5th your still pretty low in the revs. ive done 140-150 in mine and ive got 150k on my single cam, 160 is prolly the fastest you can go before hitting redline, granted you have a ecu with no speed limiter and no rev limiter like me. 150 was around redline for me, 6k rpm 1
