how likely is my head and or block warped

ok, i just bought this 240 from sleeperthese are the post of him discussing the issues he had with the care before he sold it

i have the head off already, and i hear i should check for warping...

how likely.. after reading the above posts, are that the head, and or block are warped..im checking them tomorrow.. im kind of freaked out now about the whole thing

If there's warpage, a total of .008 inches maximum can be shaved off of both surfaces combined. It's not a big deal if just the cyl. head is warped (more likely than the block. I didn't read the threads, I'm just talking about the properties of the two blocks. The thick cast iron is less likely to deform). I had a head that was warped. My machinist took a couple thousandts off and it's fine. The front timing cover should be machined with the cyl. head block.
