Hey, I wanted to know if it is every versa or mine has any defect of something. It just has no stability at all. the car shakes in every direction with the slowest wind or blowing from another car passing through. It feels as if the back was sliding. Just as if I pulled the hand brake.

Sorry im not good describing what it does (my english socks :s)

if anyone knows how to fix it pls tell me how. I already changed the springs for tanabe, has got replaced almost the entire front of the car due to the axle falling twice already, and has got obviously got about three alignments :s Idk what else to do :s!!!! I have sedan btw.

I haven't noticed any extreme stability issues with my hatch. Granted I get blow around on the highway but that's just the way it is. Even my Xterra was blown around alot.

It does, I read somewhere else something that sounds like the word Im looking for, my V fishtales. a lot! I have driven a lot of cars. it is not that it gets blown apart with the wind. there is a difference. I have the sedan, but mechanically speaking i think they're both the sedan and hatch the same!

I notice it moves a lot in high winds, lthough it feels as if the entire car is moving to me. Not just the tail. Haven't had any stability problems cornering though.

Lowering it will improve a lot - both cornering and stability in windy conditions.

When I'm driving on the highway in high winds it definetly takes a lot more effort to try and keep the car from going into the median or another car, I have the feeling as though it is a kite about ready to take off. So It's normal

yes lowering helps this out...because the V is tall....also I don't think that the 6" rims help in this area either.....anyone with wider rims and tires have a more stable feeling?

I noticed a bit of increased stability in high winds with the wider tires on my new rims. It's not a huge increase in stability, but then again I never really felt any sort of instability until cross-winds got over 35mph to begin with.

Actually, no... when I sat in the driver's seat and then nearly broke my neck trying to get out because the roof rail is so low on the Yaris, I never got back in one ever again.

If I put wider RIMS would i damage the car? And will parts wear and tear sooner then they are suppose to?

i just dropped my car to the lowest it could possibly go, about 2 3/4" lower than stock. It helped alot but just have to watch out for bumps.

Not saying you need to go that low but lowering the car and getting some larger tires will help.

I doubt it actually increased that much.

With stock tires the wind was pretty noticeable with 225s its stable.

The only way going to 17" rims would make your car taller is if you chose the wrong tires. If you choose the RIGHT sized tires, your OD is the same as it was with the stock tires, hence your ride height will be the same.

Remember, the 17" is the diameter of the rim, not the tire.

Thsts what I meant. But still there can be a difference of 3-5mm, thats why I wrote "I doubt it actually increased that much"

Hmmm... well I'm not a NASA areodynamics expert, but I have an '08 Altima and a '07 Versa in the driveway. The Versa is 500lb lighter, narrower, taller, and the sides of the car are very vertical.... compared to the Altima.

Try driving a Toyota Corolla. mcuh worse then the Versa in crosswinds. Before that, the Toyota Tercel I had was really bad (2000lb car).

I only briefly drove a Fit and Yaris, but I expect both of them ot be even worse than the Versa.

One thing that does help... towing a trailer. It adds a lot of stability.

well, i just installed the tanabe springs wich lower it only about 1.5 rear and 1.4 front i think it is. I have to admit that the handling while turning is much better, it feels better when accelerating and breaking, but in the highway it is still the same drunk car :s I just ordered 17" rims and tires i think 205/45/17 not so sure about the 45 :S .... I should get them next week. Ill tell you guys if they help out.

thanks you all for helping me though

Are you sure it isn't just the torn up asphalt on 408 doin' that to you? lol

yes, i dont take 408 and it happens in any road i drive over 55mph.

now, it will only blow the car to the side as a regular car if the windows are down, and i do not go over 60mph.

I just cant think of what to change in the aerodynamic to help it!

I thought of adding the strut bar in the rear but i dont even know where it goes :s .... I found a discussion but no one said where it goes. i guess is a really stupid quest.

I had exactly the same problem , and solved by changing tyres from 195/65/15 (factory default) to 205/60/15 the difference was realy BIG !!! it was like riding a VW Golf (my previous car) on the road !!! I have a European Tiida (1600/110hp hatch) , I live in Greece !

Yeah, my previous car was a 01 Golf 1.8t and it was very stable on the highway. It probably has a lot to do with how much lighter the V is compared to the Golf.

you should pick up a strut bar.... in combination with lowering springs and the rims you already have you will be more stable then ever....

I bought it at Universal Nissan, they said that they do not know what it is and that they are sorry but they are not responsible for the car defects after they sell it :s ....

I went to another one and I couldnt reproduce the noise and they had no idea of what I was talking about! Im printing the statements of that topic from here to bring it to that one to see if they want to check it again!

My V sedan fishtails and keeps moving around on its own on high winds on highways and on draw bridges, it feels like its going through lanes on draw bridges. I asked the dealer they said its normal.
