how is the vibration from tougher engine mounts?

Discuss the RB20, RB25 and RB26 series engines.

I'm thinking about using hockey pucks for mounts on my car, is the vibration very rough? I had a welded diff and didnt mind the noise so much but the actual effects. how bad is this for a daily?

solid mount (aka solid metal mounts) = horrible for daily driving

rigid mounts (aka reinforced poly and such) = nice medium, good for daily IMO

i just boxed up the stock left side mount with 1/16" steel plate all around the rubber, making it solid, then leaving the right one stock. now the engine doesnt torque, but i still have some cushion

Mine are metal on metal and you can hardly feel any vibration from the engine.

Sorry to thread-jack , but my dash used to shake violently with my stock KA after 4,500 RPM was reached, would you happen to know any reason for this? Thanks in advance for your ideas.

yea i had metal to metal mounts on an SR and KA, and it would shake the dash and everything else crazy when idling, when on the highway and such not a problem.

And as far as my exhaust, FORGET ABOUT IT, lol.
