How is the Shifter on Sentra SE-R SpecV's?

A great resource for Nissan Sentra, Infiniti G20, 200sx, Pulsar, NX1600, NX2000, Tsuru, Primera and Sunny owners.

Ok so I'm looking into purchasing a 2004 Black Sentra SE-R SpecV but the only issue is I've always driven an automatic. Last night my friend took me out in his Manual '07 Mazda 3 so I could test it out and begin to learn the basics and I did relatively well. From the interior pictures of the Sentra the shift stick appears extremely different than that of the Mazda. How do you guys like it? Do you find that it's any more difficult than manual cars that you've had in the past? Less difficult? Also what are your overall feelings on the car? I'm really excited about the possibility of getting this car and really hope it comes through. Thanks guys.

I used to own a 2004 Sentra but just the S version not SpecV but I thought the shifter was great, all the gears moved in quite easily and did 147k kms on it and clutch and gears still felt like new.

i like the shift feel of my spec. its a bit notchy, and it takes some getting used to to find 5th gear at first, but other than that its nice. not loose feeling or floaty, very tight and hard to miss any gear other than 5th. i also love the clutch feel.

oh and i forgot, they shift like s*** when its <30* outside until she gets warmed up.

feels awesome...you can feel that click when you get in gear, clutch feels good easy to get used to not too floaty not too stiff... the only itty bitty flaw is a little grind going into 5th and not getting in reverse completely,it gets hung sometimes....i have an '02 specV, and yes I can say I love this car..."LOTS OF TORQUE" for an NA motor...and did I say I love my specV..yep...be one of us....(isnt't that a scion motto?LOL!!!

Have had a lot of standard cars over the years(can count the auto's on one hand). My 04 SER Spec V is one of the nicer shifting FWD cars I've had.No problems with mine at all.

Its pretty good, simalar to most other sportyish cars out there, i like where the clutch grabs not to high or low when its cold out everythings a bit stiff thou but thats to be expected. If ur new to driving standard ur gonna suck for a few weeks but once u get the hang of it ur gonna love it, except in bumper to bumper traffic then it kinda sucks.

The shift feel is Notchy, the Clutch is a tad stiff but once you are used to it, its fine.
