So my drivers side brake light went out...thought it would be easy to change...went to the trunk looked around and had no clue what to do. So, if someone out there knows how to do this, it would be much appreciated if you would let me in on the secret.

thanks!

welcome to Nico. You must step on your brake a lot for it to have burned out already! jkjk.

check this thread, in the begining it explains how to remove the brakelight.

Assuming the car is still under warranty, you could also just take it back to the dealer and have them replace it.

A light bulb is not a warranty item. Dealer will charge to do that.

From what my dealer told me, up to 12,000 everything is covered, even light bulbs.

Besides, my Corolla is still rolling around with its original brake light bulbs from when it was built almost 9 years ago. If a bulb went out this early, I'd start to wonder.

thanks for the speedy responses. I am not new to forums, however new to this one, so i am familiar with the search function, however i tried that with no luck. However, my searching skills are probably subpar. And, as far the dealer replacing, i wish i still only had 12,000 miles haha

ps - JESUS that seems like a lot of work just to replace a brake light. Think it would of been a little easier than having to remove everything, or atleast make the bolts a little less hidden. heh.
