Hey guys, as most of you who have been reading my posts, I'm looking to buy an s14. What I'm trying to gauge from you all is, how important do you think having options like the Cruise control, or power door locks are? Any options a must have?

I'm so close to getting one, but it doesn't have the above two, which kinda killed it for me, but what do you guys think? am I just being too picky?

i dont think that they are all that important, i almost never use cruise control, and it only has 2 doors, so even if you had to lock it, the worst would be you having to reach over and flip a switch.dont let some options get in the way of you buying the car.

Little extras like power locks, windows, and cruise control arn't really all that important. I wouldn't let them keep you from getting an otherwise good car. I personally have used cruise control one time to see what the heck it was and don't care much for power stuff. Judge how important they are for your car.

Well, I guess it all depends on what type of driving you do. Cruise is nice on the highway, especially for trips that may be around an hour or more. Personally, I HAD to have leather. So, I stuck it out for a couple months after I sold my GN to find a full optioned S14 with a manual trans. I had to drive 3 hours just to look at it!! I wasn't really looking for red, but, this car was so darn clean that I just couldn't pass it up. It was well worth the wait. If the car you are looking at fits your needs, get it, b/c these cars are kinda hard to come by sometimes.

if it doesn't have that stuff, it sounds like it's not an SE... Reference: http://www.socal240sx.org/faq/1995.html

if it's a non SE, you're gonna have other things to worry about .... like lacking a rear swaybar, converting to 5 lugs,

also, if you care about options, then you're not gonnahave as nice seats, no keyless entry, possibly no AC, no white faced guages, etc.... I only mention those things because it's what i enjoy about my SE's. some people don't care, but i don't want you to go into the sitch uneducated.

There is still a good aftermarket for 4-lug S14s... don't be afraid to opt for a base model.

I like having all the power options. It really depends on the person. And girls aren't exactly impressed with having to crank a window either...

Well I love me 6-speaker system (sound package) in my 95' SE... compared to all other 240's its WAAAY better. However the whole power window thing, moonroof and all that crap don't mean anythign to me. More weight and more stuff that can break...

If you want, when you get a 240, if you get a base with non-power stuff I will trade you if you pay shipping :p I will give my power windows/door locks and we can trade. The cruise control is VERY nice if you go on long trips... I don't so I woudl sell you that for very cheap as well.

If you are getting an SE then you can expect-in most cases- power everything, sound system and sunroof, and hopefully LSD (abs)...

I have an s13 with all the options except the LSD:( and I love having all the creature comforts, the only problem I have is the power locks give me trouble and I have to fix them now.
