well, i think my car is overheating. i can't get my temp gauge working because i don't have the ka temp sender yet so i jsut am going by how long and had i am driving. but i went for a pretty long drive the other day and when i parked and put up the hood to let it start cooling off i felt the valve cover and it was almost to hot to touch. so i'm wondering how hot should the valve cover get.......and is this an accurate way to see how warm the car is? also if anyone knows how to get the the temp gauge working with my sr i'd like to know

usaly right after driving you can feel quite a bit of heat and the valve cover is going to be hot enough to not wanna touch it anymore

Is that Colin McRae in that Xsara?

On a related note, I think I'm going to get a sticker made up with my name, nationality and blood type...rally style! You think it'll become the "next big thing"?

yup it is collin, I actualy didnt even know that, I was just looking at pictures from a previous rally sweden and wanted a pic of the xsara. I dont think the name and blood type will catch on, but it would probbably be the the only sticker you could put on a car I'd aprove of.

thank you guys so much for clearing that up. but i'd still like to know how hot your guy's valve covers get.....and if you can tell how hot the engine is by touching it?

it gets hot, but feeling the valve cover isnt any way to determine if your engine is overheating, you need a gauge to determine if it is indeed overheating or not, which i do understand you dont have yet. and mine does get too hot to touch when i drive for a while
