I onlt have two reasons...

First being that I have always had respect for the honda engines becasue they could rev so high and put out that whinning sound :ylsuper

Second...I will be going turbo charged so the longer you can hold it in gear, the faster you can go and you might even be able to skit a shift in the 1/4 mile if you can get it to rev high enough, which means lower et's. Not quite sure about the skipping the shift part because i have never taken my 240 to the track.

I am hopefully going to get more information on balancing the rotational assembly in the engine so we can all see what is best.

thanks again everyone for your continual feedback in this thread!

i rev my 12 valve carburated to 8500rpm ofcourse everything is balanced lightend and such. My 16 valve to about 8500 rpm everything stock but stiffer springs to prevent valve floating. Friends 16 valves pulls to 9200 rpm no problem.

gotta love them kA's BOI

well .. for the de cams im using a .430 lift .230 duration at .050thsi have my cam ground from my cam grinder. they work wonders. i have a messload of 12 valve cams. stock is 400 lift! i have a 440, 480, 540, 580, 591 lifts. Of course i will get more revs with cams and more air/fuel. 45 webers damn near flows 1000 cfm total! my 50mm mikunis flow 1100 cfm or more .. people think thats alot of carburtation! well 16 valve head was known to easily flow 250cfm per cylender.. witch would give 1000 total ! so i can easily run 50mm mikunis ! well keep u all posted. BTW make note to get a engine to rev like mine u also need to lighten and blance everything.

well total flow of individual carbs is a misleading number. the entire engine does not have access to each carb. one cyl per carb so on intake stroke you cant pull 1000cfm if you wanted to. by looking at your setup im sure you know more about this than i do. i just wanted to put it out there so nobody would be mislead by it.thats why 1000cfm of individual carb will work but a 1000cfm single would not.
